[1.2.384] A Cannon Shooter is born
cronnoponno Wrote:They are using the mechanic laser thing, the triple shot thing, two types of flash jump, ultimate. My favorite thing about this class is that the weapon is massive, and on the back, only to be taken off when being fired, that is simply amazing to me. I hate how weapons get in the way of my characters appearance, Sins are boring, and Buccs are always transformed.

Plus, I have yet to see how they boss, I'm liking what I see from the beginning, once future videos show up I'm sure I'll like them even more.

Pretty much this. I've been getting bored of my Paladin since I only ever use two attack, and as Stereo mentioned we have to keep a ton of buffs up all the time. When Nexon has been giving amazing buffs to new classes that never have to be recast, I can't help but feel irritated that Paladins get 8 buffs (up to 11 with decent skills) that take 10 or more seconds to cast. My Wild Hunter was a nice change of pace, but like Cronno said, not seeing any of the armor someone's wearing because of massive weapon sprites and/or mounts is aggravating.

I don't know what you guy's think but it looks fun, also I think it's pretty badass having a weapon ON YOUR BACK!!!

Idk, it just lacks uniqueness and seems repeative. I agree that cannons look quite good, but the char looks isn't really what gets me interested in a class.

It just doesn't seem interesting at all. It doesn't have different, unique skills like Meso explosion, Combo Ability, Open Gate, rock 'n shot or poison mist for example.

I don't know, Cannon Shooter is just another Mechanic, stripped out of the summon and other useful skills. (Well Mechanic clearly had too much of good skills, but still)

Yah, it's just my opinion and might be that I'm just bored of the whole concept of training in MS. Very very repeative, too simple, too easy, too time-consuming and too expensive to fund a character. Just not fun at all anymore.

Hmm? I saw a pretty large variety of skills at their disposal, the amount of skills they have seems comparable to mages. Did you see the third job videos? If those don't become completely obsolete(btw, this class does have a summon) that's even more skills to add to this class's roster.

Although on the uniqueness feature I would agree, nothing really unique about this class, I believe that ''uniqueness'' left this game as soon as Pirates were introduced. While Aran's combo system is unique to Maple itself, it's not completely unheard of. Evan is just, well, some kid with a dragon familiar. Battle mages are basically mages with skills that look like physical attacks(that is not to say that they suck), mechanics aren't too unique, wild hunters would be debatable imo.

Although this class doesn't have the ''OMFGROAWNEWAWESOMCLASS'' feel to it, it's not something I'm angry with, and it looks like a ranged class I'd actually be happy to main. The only thing I really could have asked for is a few physical skills(even if they're not the main attacking skills). It makes no sense that this class would not be able to melee the crap out of stuff with it's big gun.

This makes two times now, that you've taken the words out of my mouth.

Also, for me, one of the reasons I'm interested in this class is because Nexon didn't try so hard to make it something completely new. If we take a look, every time Nexon tried to make a class with a completely new concept they ended up becoming way stronger than they should have been, and they still weren't even that unique. Every "unique" class since pirates have really just been overly well rounded classes that are completely self sufficient (With the exception of Evans, since they can neither heal themselves, nor do they have i-frames; though, they can regenerate mp pretty well.)

While this class doesn't add anything new, their playstyle is still something that I think would be fun, especially since I've mostly stuck with warriors and would find the Cannoneer job to be something completely new while still not straying too far from my own comfort zone (their hp and defense are similar to a warrior's, as well as slow attacks). Not to mention I enjoy anything that's as over the top as this new class's skill animations! Seriously, they shoot a massive drill through mobs of enemies, summon a HUGE drum, and even get to call upon MONKEYS! Heart

Stereo Wrote:Another reason I dislike the class is the horrible number of buffs. Not sure I'd prefer a class with a lot of attacks, but Paladins have way too many skills that should have gone the way of the Mechanic and been made passive.

The biggest issue with buffs is the double charge needed unless the monster is weak to Lightning. I don't get how it's so hard to give +25% attack to every single buff (Is it +25% or +20%?) and make them all single buffs again. It's not a hard thing to do. Granted it's only one buff, but it certainly helps. It also doesn't help that CO has such a ridiculously large delay, unless that was lowered in Jump.

Still, Dispel is devastating for Paladins. I'm not even sure if Dispel counts under one of the status things Guardian prevents. It certainly should, or it should have (maxed) a 50% chance to stop Dispel or something, simply because any boss that spams Dispel is basically Paladin immune.

Lightning is +12.5% when stacked, and the elemental bonus can alter it to be +18.75% or +6.25% depending on the monster's Lightning vulnerability. And yeah, I think it'd be a lot better if dual charging changed to either allow lightning to be the primary charge or just take out the concept altogether while buffing the charges' damage. Additionally, I think Paladins would benefit from having their charges work like the Battle Mage aura skills, and Stance needs to be passive for any class that has it without a cooldown. Or they could make Stance work like auras also, either way works.

Whatever the buff is, it should just be added to every Charge's damage buff and they should make Lightning Independant again. There's no reason not to. Fighting Lightning-weak monsters is actually a bad idea if you have a fire/ice weak monster to substitute, because you lose a good chunk of damage (18.75% is a lot, plus if it's instead of a fire-weak you lose another 5%). I never really trained on Gigantics as a Paladin, because Dual Pirates were easier. I lost like 10k damage back when I trained there if I went to Gigantics instead of Duals.

Having the charges work like the Auras is an AMAZING idea. I absolutely agree. I never really thought about them doing it that way. They should, they absolutely should.

I also agree with the Stance change.

That's two things they should have done in the Jump update. In my opinion, Paladins got screwed (Especially when you look at the Archer update!).

It's a shame Nexon doesn't listen to us, especially Nexon Korea, who has the control over this kind of stuff.

Looks lame enough.

How did this thread go into an argument about buccaneers survivability and paladins charges anyhow? o.o

this threads about cannon shooters no? I'll read it over in a bit to see why it became like this.

Anyhow 3rd job looks awesome then the laser just makes 4th job look boring.

cannon shooter looks fun to play but they might need some enrage-like skill

southperry is hilarious, kids were arguing about whether some kid thought buccs 'sucked' earlier

imo most of the new classes (like dual blade, canon shooter, wild hunter,...) are wat the original class should have been. this seems quite boring because it is pretty much an improved version of all the good existing skills in maple

EDIT: Ehg, never mind. Just watched the video, ignore this post.

I just realised that there's a small monkey (not the cannon wielding ones) that follows you around and cries when you die. o.0
