I'mma keep this simple.
Who do you look up to, if anyone? Be they relative, actor, or a complete stranger, I would like to hear your story.
(Or, your two-word post. You choose.)

That's a good question. I've been so independent for the past 3 years of my life, I never really turn to anyone for the important things.
If anyone's opinion I value the most, it'd be a few of my teachers. They've been there to help me when I needed it, being it academic or personal. My grandma is very important to me, I don't know too much about her life but I know shes traversed a lot hardships through her life and still seems to keep a positive attitude.
Artistically I look up to Dali, because his art always seems to make me want to push mine even more regardless of the outcome.
I guess all these people are the ones that taught m that life is about the journey not the destination.

I can't think of a specific person, but I look up to people who do the right thing overall instead the best thing for them or a group. I also look up to people who have the ability to give everyone a fair chance, and the ability to forgive. Many people lack these things in our day and age.

My mom. Too many reasons to name. I guess the main reason would be that she tried to put a whole lifetime of experience, knowledge, instruction and what not into the last two months of her life. Knowing she was going to die, didn't stop her from being an awesome Mom. I wish I had an ounce of her unselfish nature.

My gran of course, my parents have never been very inspirational in my life, i prob feel like a plantain now but its true. But my gran always knew how to cheer me up , and basically taught me to be a good person. Which it seems many newer generations dont learn.
But sadly my gran died, since then i havent found inspiration from anyone else other than music. I would honestly love another inspirational figure in my life, But i cant see anyone replacing her.

Da listz (pretty much what I have on Facebook):
Leonardo Da Vinci - Top inspiration. He's the definition of a Renaissance Man, which is what I strive to live my life as. He's one of the few Renaissance Men who was capable of mastering multiple diverse subject matters, and in following suit I hope to do the same.
Peter Tchaikovsky - I don't have words for him. I have emotions. That's what his music does to me. Through his phenomenal music I can also develop a character idea of him as someone like myself, in the sense of personal connection to self and identity. He's a personality I adore.
Sir Ian McKellan - One of the best actors of our time, starring in some of the most widely respected and celebrated roles known in the past century, and is openly gay. I love him as a person who is truly himself, an activist who speaks out for the LGBT community but isn't defined by his sexual orientation, and no matter what is seen with great reverence because of his masterful abilities to depict awesome characters on screen and stage.
Wedge Antilles - First off, if you don't know who this is, you can't call yourself a true Star Wars fan. Wedge is one of the most laid-back, chill motherfuckers in the galaxy whose tactical knowledge is amazing, thus allowing him to capably lead and devastate the Empire and other enemy forces. He's a star badass who acts like it's all nbd.
Felicia Day - Love her to death. Good-looking gamer girl who is openly nerdtastic but, like others above, is not defined by her nerdiness.
Ultimately I love people who are really proficient at what they love, who are themselves to their fullest extent, but are not defined by any one sector of their lives, and who, through it all, are pretty chill, down to Earth types capable of creative imagination and dreaming but are always grounded in themselves.

I admire the lucidity and precision of the poet Wisława Szymborska and the unrelenting sarcasm of Ambrose Bierce. I look up to the former in thought and the latter in procedure.

Inspire or admire? I am not sure. Thread title states one, thread content states the other.
At some point I seem to have gotten the terms "admire" and "inspire" oddly tangled. More often than not I just find myself vehemently wishing I could do the things they do rather than actually going out of my way to try them for myself. In that respect I can't say I've really found any true inspiration from others as of yet.

All really interesting reads. Keep 'em coming, guys.
I, however, find myself in the same boat as Beg:
