Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread
Played a special game today. I don't know how many of you know about it, but there's a LoL University group in the New Player Forums and their own chat room dedicated to answering questions and helping out newbies. I ended up in a 5-man group with them.

Amumu, Anivia (me), Ashe, Xin Zhao, Teemo
vs.
Anivia, Caitlyn, Heimerdinger, Nidalee, Vladimir

As with expectations, our group ranged from whiny ragers (not like the Tribunal mind you) that couldn't dodge skillshots, to elite peepz that communicate and knows how to play. And then there's those in between xD For the most part, I didn't notice anything spectacular from the other team.

Right off the bat, we noticed that Caitlyn and Anivia were duoing in mid lane. Mid tower was lost fairly fast, which was unfortunate. Eventually, our jungling Amumu was able to give me (Anivia) and Xin Zhao a breather from the onslaught of Nidalee and Heimerdinger, so I took over caring for mid lane. Shortly thereafter, Amumu gave me blue buff, which enabled us to destroy Caitlyn after I juked skillshots like a pro. Even later down the line, however, the opposing Anivia attempted to wall me in with a high level wall when she, Heimer and Caitlyn were around. I just went "lolwut?" and destroyed her, knowing her egg was down from the previous gank. Used summoner spells to gtfo aftewards.

Eventually, we managed to dominate the jungle and grinded them down to their Nexus through split pushing. By then, I think all that they wanted at that point was to kill me xD

Yay some tinkering with Video settings lets me play again!

Did not realise the Benchmark setting made your Graphics Card work as hard as possible.
Dark Link Wrote:So he's pretty much pre-buff Annie lol

Not really because rammus is actually on par with other tanks late game, he's just bad at jungling late game. A viable jungler needs to be able to manage the jungle the whole game. Controlling baron and dragon makes or breaks a game.

@Other: Rammus is only fast at jungling early game. Hardly matters for the entire game.

Can you access this from the control panel? I want to see if this will let me play again on my computer. Brb checking.
Going back to me asking about AP carries, I completely forgot about Lux. So yea just gonna stick with her, really love her skill set and play style. I did play around with kennen a little, didn't really like it or do well with him. Still kinda want to try out swain and my roommate got him the other day so maybe ill try swain on his account.

Does anyone else play lux a fair amount? I never really liked maxing shield early, i tend to get one point in each move right away though, but am torn between maxing her snare or aoe first. Pretty sure aoe first is better but looking for second opinions.
It depends on who you are facing really. Your Q is more beneficial in a utility sense, E is more for when you have to do your harassment from afar because they are hurting you.

edit: And W sucks balls I usually don't get points in it until I am required to by the game.

Wat? it's a pretty resistant barrier, specially once you have some AP. On lux I tend to get 1 point in each skill in the first 5 levels, then max R>E>W>Q, if I mid I go first lvls EQEWER I think and if I lane with a partner I get QEEWER.

...wat
Word on the street is that team Epik Gaming (EG) will throw their game if they're matched up with team Solo Mid (TSM). The reason? Dan Dinh is Reginald's brother, and they're on EG and TSM respectively. What happens now is that Riot switched up the Dream Hack tournament brackets (the one for the $100k prize) so that Counterlogic Gaming (CLG) is now faced with EG, while TSM gets easy street. Not only are the seedings fairly wonky now, CLG potentially has to face all the hard teams one after another with no breaks.

Talk about stupid.
yea real dumb. I really dont see dan doing that(dan is the older brother btw), but holy pomegranate hotshot was crying about it so much on stream.
On lux you typically want to max E first. Q snare's time doesn't increase as it levels, iirc so it's not that big a deal to leave it at 1. W is pretty good to have. I try to get it to level 3 before working on Q again after maxing E unless I really need the damage.
 Pre-made all-SP.net LoL team

Man this game was pretty much uncertain until the very end. We won many teamfights, and lost just as many teamfights. We got Baron twice, but only pushed bit by bit since we didn't want to get our asses wiped. At the very end, when we made our final push in mid lane, it was game over once we wiped out the carries. We mopped up the survivors, took out the Nexus turrets, then finished off the Nexus.

Zilean was an annoying bugger though. Lots of revives, time bombs...ugh what the eff, lol. MoldyOnions (Phoenix Wright): "Zilean cockblocked me from getting a pentakill near the end Sad"

Since this game went long, I was able to fully arm myself with lots of armor. Had 343 armor, 238 MR + life insurance (GA) end game.

Gotta love racking up a high number of assists. Biggrin

My last game was simmilar to that, except:
It was 4 SPers.
We lost at 1:07:00 or around
I got lots of assists but it was a long ass game, we ended up aced and lost :|

I basically lost us another game. .-.

Oh, don't remind me of that game >_>.
That was a fantastic game. I really do feel a bit bad that Jarvan DCed for a few minutes. I think that's when the game swung solidly in our favor, even if it took another 20 minutes to win. So back and forth. I liked how solid our team comp felt. A lot of my premades feel sour because our team is a little silly. A good mix of roles with characters we play well but no good synergy. Fu'cking insane initiation/burst with the opening Lux burst and AoE CC. Trist and Teemo DPS/mop-up. Loved it. Loved the butting heads against the other team's "keep Vayne alive" thing. So sad she didn't get a GA.

In other news

Can't believe last week was the first time I ever rolled with CV on a character. What an awesome spell.

Fixed.
The Zilean cockblock made me sad. He revived himself and lived too long - right near the end I ended up getting a triple kill followed by a double. So disappointing >:

Fortify / CV = overpowered. No one ever grabs them but they're top tier skills.

I dunno about Fortify, but generally you only need one CV per team.
Rayquaza2233 Wrote:I basically lost us another game. .-.

Nah, I screwed up a lot too, initiated when I shouldn't have sometimes, you did mess up but we all did a little, also they had their focus well placed on kaj/vayne so we lost dps fast most of the time.

Corn Wrote:Oh, don't remind me of that game >_>.

I'm pretty sure it was Purp, Ray, Kaj and me.... unless you were talking with one of us.
