@ Locked and Lilinet.
I have 1 point in dragon's breath and never ever use it. Total waste. I added it thinking it'd be nice to help mob but it's a waste of an sp.
184-120 = 64 * 3 = 192 + 3 = 195
195 - 30 Hurricane, 165
165 - 30 AFA, 135
135 - 30 SE, 105
105 - 30 SL: Phoenix, 75
75 - 30 BE, 45
45 - 29 MW, 16
16 - 10 Marksmanship, 6
Here's where I get stuck. Firstly, I don't care at all about Ult.Inferno. It does great damage, sure, but how many mobs have to be in the group before it has higher dpm than Hurricane + AFA? It's like 4+ right? To me, that's not worth 10 sp, even at 184. So that is out of the question.
I need at least one point in Hero's Will. It breaks sed and it breaks pot lock, that's invaluable to me.
6 - 1 Will, 5
That leaves me with Puppet or Illusion Step. I'm leaning pretty heavily toward Illusion Step for the exclusive reason that I believe the extra 45 dex will have my %dex applied to it. If so, it becomes 95. Which is like 3k range for me, and I want that. The evasion would be nice but since it's not like shadow shifter, it takes the back seat to the possibility of so much dex.
Puppet, on the other hand, has pros and cons. Pros: GOBS of hp. Cons: Attacks and can kill low level monsters. I think the issue that will make or break this decision for me is if Elite Puppet pulls agg, even if being attacked by party members, even if I don't hit the monster. If so, then i'll get it, probably. However, if it it just acts like my current puppet, that loses agg when attacked by someone else, and doesn't pull agg without my first attacking, and then setting it, then the con actually outweighs the pro. Here's why, when i'm killing a boss like grandpa, I don't want my puppet killing the little mobs and thus having them respawn in front of me while i'll killing grandpa. I grandpa daily so that'd be a bit of frustration.
Honestly I don't know which one to go for. While EP is only 15 points, it doesn't actually boost up my atk. However, going IS would be a commitment to that path, and i'd be committed until it's maxed. Meh, any insight?

Elite Puppet auto aggros and doesn't break aggro. It also absorbs 20% of the damage you take. Why wouldn't anyone max it?

It absorbs 20% of the damage I take or 20% of the damage it takes?

You take.
If it absorbs 20% of the damage it took, it would be completely pointless.

Not if it absorbed in the meaning of healed.
I've heard several different things. If it tanks 20% of the damage I take, that changes things. Not at the bosses we have right now, which have all taken a hit to their attack that it makes them jokes (6k from cht? really?) but at empress perhaps that'd matter a little.

I'm going to go for the damage route which is probably the bossing route anyway.. since mobs of 6 are rather rare at places like lionheart anyway.
171 SP to use.
30 Hurricane
30 Advanced Final Attack
30 Soul Link : Phoenix
30 Bow Expert
19 Maple Warrior (hopefully chaos will make it easier for me to obtain a maple warrior 30 book[or a couple])
30 Sharp Eyes
1 Ultimate Inferno
1 Elite Puppet
1 Illusion Step
Well.. yeah, forgot sharp eyes.
Eventually after maxing illusion step.. I'm not entirely sure where to go, obviously i need hero's will(awakening) and the maxed Maple Warrior, from there.. I guess elite puppet.

That and who'd get Illusion Step so early? It seems like the castaway skill imo. The +%avoid ruins it, especially since it''s an active buff and not passive.

Doesn't seem like a castaway skill to me. Certainly, not a skill i'd get early in the job, but definitely worth considering if the +dex has my %dex work on it.

Well that video i saw of the bowmaster with a similar range of mine.. took no hits for 3 minutes so... based off the similar range he should have about the same avoidability as my bowmaster. I think it actually adds 35% avoid but also 35% chance to miss.
Unless the magic/ranged attack the monsters were using was a physical type (fiel i believe could tell) then i believe its 35% chance to avoid magic+physical?

Look at the videos posted after that. http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php...34&page=20
He probably just posted a lucky misses in a row from a number of tries or he's doing something else. The other videos show that you actually still get hit a lot. Something similar to how it works now. Illusion step just looks like it adds the % to the avoid you already have, nothing special.

Illusion Step in the 2nd archer restructuring update currently holds it at 30% chance to dodge (changed from +30% avoid). Now add that to the 20% dodge from 3rd job and you now have a 50% chance to dodge enemy attacks. This is pretty good by itself, but you should also know that when you dodge, you get 1 second of 100% critical hits from the 3rd job skill.
So all in all, I'd say it's pretty useful, although not the most useful skill in the game.

i think dodge doesn't actually dodge, but merely increases the avoid rate o_o Unless it got changed again... Swear Illusion step was a multiplier on avoid too. 50% dodge rate is better than thieves and i don't think that's what Nexon was aiming for.

Hmm, maybe you're right. I'm pretty sure both skills mean dodge chance, so with max Evasion Boost, monsters will miss you 20% of the time (although it seems like less in game -.-). Max Illusion Step should, assuming separate, do the same thing but 30%. But yeah, I'm not sure if they add like that; probably shouldn't have said it so confidently, lol. I'm not sure how all this factors in avoidability...

It's been confirmed at least 4 times ITT that Illusion Step is just Your Avoid * Illusion Step %

Bah. IS is looking better than ever, but so is puppet, recognizing that it tanks some dmg for me and attacks pretty strongly and aggs for the party? I don't have enough sp lol.

Well it's +1% avoid rate per level.. I'm sure you can skip on a few points.
