Yes, it is KMS. But sometimes NexKR rolls updates in with the patch here and then backports the changes to KMST later. It's still worth looking into.

It looks like that might be the case, as the two previous kMST patches combined are a bit smaller than 27mb.

Your question is still valid. They changed things when mage update came, so that could happen this time as well.
