You gotta change your hair 50 times lol... I had some Maple Points, so I bought one of those 1 month hair coupons for 11K NX, and changed my hair 50 times on 4 chars. It's 80 HP, 80 MP, 10 Acc, 10 Avoid, 5 Hands, 5 Speed, 5 Jump. I quite like it, it's weird looking and it has decent stats!

Yeah you start the quest for the hair medal through the medal interface, then change 50 times after that!

As long as they're real and you have everything the quest needs then yes.
I plan on doing this same thing.

Be warned though, it will cost you quite a few billions in mesos, or a few hundred K in NX, and only if you can even find the items. There's hardly any Wraith Erasers left, let alone Slime Erasers.

There were both of them in MTS for around 160k NX each a year ago, but I didn't buy them as they were just too expensive.

Needless to say, congratulations for obtaining such a rare weapon (one of the rarest of the game, I'd dare to say) and THANK YOU for posting the quest text. Nothing storyline-related, as predicted, though.

Wasn't it a quest which was released with Showa? Must be another quest of that kind, then.

They'll probably make the erasers as rare as bird pomegranate (lol at changing my cursing of the bad version of "poop" to pomegranate!) in some patch with a box event, and 90% of the Maple population will have a Flaming Katana a few days after lol

theres a flaming katana in mts for 161k right now.. too bad its tagged by a random person

I can confirm that you do need everything in your inventory before the quest will even show up in your quest list! Got my sword now!
