I've been thinking about hosting one for a while now. Just making this thread to see who'd be interested in it. I have a general idea of the rules I want, but have yet to write them down, thus I cant really put them down for sure yet. If you're interested in participating please sign up below.
Note: This will not be used with Shoddy/whatever online Pokemon battle programs are out there it will be cartridge only. Each round will be 2/3 battles. Said battles can be of any type except for Wonder Launcher, and they must be flat battle. After each fight the participants will save the battle as a video and upload it, then send the video code to myself. I have yet to decide if the video #'s will be posted in the tournament thread or not. Each round match-ups will be decided by a RNG. Rest of the official rules will be posted as soon as I find time to write them down. I'm working 53 hours this week so it might be a while. I'll leave sign up available until May 31st at Midnight EST(9pm pst).

I'd be interested, here are a few suggestions/questions/opinions
- How can we upload videos? Unless you're using an R4 or something like that, I don't think there's any way to get the video file off without using something like a webcam/camera
- 6v6 battles can be hard since people will have to level their pokes to 100, which is time consuming. Maybe use VGC rules where it's double battle level 50 format
- I don't like the idea of 3v3 level 50 format, just because double 4v4 works much better. Either 6v6 or nothing if you're doing singles
- If doing 6v6, no gimmicky teams imo (aron level 1 endeavor sweep, riolu copycat sweep)
- I highly recommend only using pokemon that are currently available. That means pokemon with unreleased DW abilities can't be used, etc. Same goes for items (Some pinch berries and other berries are currently unavailable)
- You should decide if it will be unova pokemon only, or all 5 regions

1) Versus Recorder :f6:
2) VGC rules? Can you go a little more in depth for me? Send a PM if you dont want to post here.
3) I was going to have it be that the people can choose from any of the matches avalible besides wonder launcher for thier battles, as long as it's agreed upon. i.e. Match 1 could be 3v3, match 2 a rotation, and match 3 1v1. If you get what I meant I may rex
4) Was planning on that. I'm currently working on a banned pokemon list ehich fyi includes all legendaries If people have serious issues with that I may reconsider.
5) Of course.
6) All 5 regions of pokemon will be allowed.

#1: VS. recorder does record our battles, but how can we upload them? I assume you're talking like, uploading them to the internet/youtube. There's no current way for a retail cartridge to upload battles to the internet without some extra device/purchase (If someone knows a way, I'd be greatly interested)
#2: VGC rules are video game championship rules. They play doubles format level 50 where you team preview your opponent's 6. They don't have some clauses like sleep. Their rules are located here: http://www.pokemonvgc.com/en/regulations
#3: I think it should be the same for all battles since some pokemon movesets are geared towards double battles while some are geared towards 6v6, etc.
Another question/suggestion I had, which is semi-analogous to a few other questions/suggestions: Will we be able to swap out pokemon from round to round, or do the 6 we start with go until the end. Personally I think it's better if whatever 6 you sign up with, you must play with.

1. You can upload your battles inbthe game itself if you go to the WiFi girl and pick Battle Videos.
2. I'll look at this after I get home from work, and have an actual computer not my DSi
3. Just thought it'd be a fun thing to do lmfao :o
Probably keep your same 6 pokemon round to round.

We are facing each-other correct and not other random people on WiFi? Sounded a little vague in your opening post now that I read it again. You mind making a step by step way to upload videos? I'm not really sure how to do it lol.

To upload in-game:
- Record a battle in your VS. Recorder. This option is given to you after any sort of wi-fi battle. It will replace your old one.
- Go to the wi-fi lady in the pokemon center. She's the one on the far right -->
- Go into nintendo wi-fi and eventually you'll see an option where you can "send battle video". This will upload your battle video to the nintendo wi-fi server. Once you're done, they will give you a code. The code is used for "Search for battle videos"
- If you give that code to someone, they can enter it in the above mentioned section and will then be able to see your battle on their DS
To do it via internet, you need a camera/webcam or some external devices like R4, rom, emulator, and stuff.

Many thanks! Would be cool if we had the tournament videos compiled on SP for everyone to view. But seems like a lot of trouble, unless someone can use the code on an emulator.

Not sure if you can muster up more than 8 people for this. I can only muster an average of 16 people for online battle simulators in the past =/.
