So, if you were wondering how fast Double Jump is, it definitely doesn't compare to Flash Jump, testing from arrow to right at a Nath FM. Also 160% Speed is barely noticeable for me.

Also, you can't attack while moving, jumping, or double jumping.

from what it looks like, its basically similar to what a wild hunter has pre chaos normal jag max jag rider and jag jump without speed benefits. it also carries the burden that you cannot attack while in the second jump.

Uhm, this clears it all up. But still, climbing ladders is easily beaten by that. The 160 speed isn't as important as starting climbing higher.

So its identical to a WHs even the sound. Not much competition for Flash jump even with 160 speed. A lot of their new skills seem reverse engineered for WHs. Sure it has a bit of a vertical advantage for climbing ladders but it is a double jump after all and Flash jump has a horizontal advantage so I think it evens out really. I just dont see double jump as that big of an issue. People never seemed that bothered when Wild Hunters got it with a 190 speed cap.
As for speed, they will probably raise the speed cap for thieves. They should just do an advanced version of Self Haste. Where other players get the regular haste buff and the caster gets an enhanced version.

The thing is: Bowmen are now faster than thieves from lv 30 to 70. As for the speed fixes, I'd actually prefer full effect for everyone, but us having a passive speed boost+cap. Don't know... I need to see what they have in store, first, maybe we get some surprises.

Yeah but they will probably move flash jump. I mean NWs and DBs get it pre 70. Unless they raise the speed cap on all classes boosting hastes effect for party members wouldnt make much of difference.

Sorry if this was mentioned before, but did anyone notice you can't max all your skills in 4th job?
Assuming you leave MW at 29 and 0 on Hero's Will, you don't have enough to max all your other (important) skills. The only thing I can think of is to leave puppet at 14 (which isn't a huge deal) but idk, I like having all my good skills maxed in every job. With this patch there are really no redundant skills (DRAGON BREATH, HAMSTRING, BLIND) which you can use as an SP dump and leave unmaxed...

This was already mentioned some pages back, we also had this same discussion on the mage Jump! patch too.

I'm betting that the developers didn't have clear what had to have a higher cap, so they made everything lv 30-20 - etc, until they made up their minds after the testing.

I remember people peachin on the mage patch, though it was mostly bishops there were some other classes.

I don't usually moan, it's just that, after ignoring NLs so much lately, even being nerfed, it just feels like a kick to the teeth to see that the updates to avoid and speed that we would have loved since BB are going to another class. And even them getting some of our signature moves and all.
I feel glad for them, I know drain and flash jump feels nice, I've been using it and I know. I felt glad for shadowers when they got flash jump and shadow partner, they did need something like that. But after everyone getting our stuff... Well. We are starting to get tired of waiting. And don't give me that "You guys were better before, so shut up", because I'm talking about new stuff here, like skills, or the likes.
Aaaand I think I'll rest the thread a bit, I'm starting to feel like a nuisance. :c
