At 1st, I was going to say how outrageous Ash's age in the new series is but then I had a thought:
What if Ash somehow managed to travel around Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh and managed to meet Brock, Misty, Tracy, May, Max, Dawn, Mewtwo, Slowking, Celebii, Deoxys, Jirachi, Latias, Manaphy and Zorua before a year had passed? What do you think Southperry?

Did they practically rebooted the whole time lime or something? Ow, my head.

Well, if my memory is correct, they did say the Kanto region took about 3 years to get through. So right there it would be unlikely to go through 4 regions in 1 year (while still going back to Kanto to play with the Battle Frontier).

They explicity stated in an episode that it's been a year since Ash won 8 badges in one of the episodes between Ash returning to Pallet Town and Ash going to the Indigo Plateau IIRC.
