Well i believe MOBA is a fairly new Genre in games as far as it goes, i only know of 4 Moba games so far (HoN,LoL,Dota,that one in starcraft).

So its no wonder people choose one of those 4 games and give it that popularitiy, since its a very enjoyable Genre tbh. (>Wondering what spot Dota is)

Well i believe MOBA is a fairly new Genre in games as far as it goes, i only know of 4 Moba games so far (HoN,LoL,Dota,that one in starcraft).

DotA and SC's MOBA are technically mods. And DotA actually has several variants that are based off of Eul's original DotA (based off of something I never heard of, SC's Aeon of Strife), which was never updated when WC3 Frozen Throne was released. Of those variants, DotA Allstars was apparently the most popular, authored by Guinsoo, and the community website for that was maintained by Pendragon_. (Now it's being updated and balanced by IceFrog.) (Fun fact: Pendragon dislikes dragons, which is ironic; Pendragon is actually the name of a key figurehead, meaning "chief dragon".)

Still, I'll count DotA as the origins of MOBA gaming.

So we have DotA, HoN, LoL, LOCO, Demigods, RoI, and to an extent BLC. That's a fair number of MOBA games. Of those games, LOCO is a third person shooter variant, Demigods flopped because hackers managed to ruin them pre-release (it looked promising, albeit slow with long game time), BLC is all skillshot and it's just champions vs champions in a small arena. Honestly, I'll be amazed if someone comes up with a new and interesting way to utilize the MOBA theme that's not turn-based.

Just got done with 2 normals as Ryze.

1st game: Laning with a feeding Jax against a noc and a maokai. My GOD did that maokai have a ton of mres runes or something. My Q did NOTHING to him... and he only had a mercs. No other mres. Never really fought against a maokai, nor used him. Didn't know a single thing about his skills. Died 3 times throughout the whole game to him. Jax died about 9 times in 15 minutes to him +noc. The team gave up in the end.

2nd game: Laned with a Sion against cait and newb shen. the shen overextended too much so he was easy to kill. the caitlyn was easy to bring to low HP (from max), but i could never manage to finish her off. Makes me want to carry flash. Eventually I started carrying the team, sorta. I think I ended up at 9/0/2 when the other team quit. Then newb shen made it too simple to gear up.

DotA2 will be the best MOBA. Can't wait for icefrog to finish up, DotA never had serious imbalance, he made sure things were very balanced.

I swear to god I am going to snap off on someone eventually.

Decided today would be fun to do some solo Q ranked and by all rights it seemed like a good idea.

Game 1: We stomp 1/2/21 as a roaming taric.

Game 2: I have no clue because my ISP decided to kick me offline for appx 20 minutes starting at the loading screen.

I sure do love it when level 30s call you a scrub, even though you beasted them in fights, but team sucks ass in where you lose the match lol

Twas a pretty funny game. Morde raged at me when I suggested he not build Warmogs and I killed TF with my net when he and Ashe tried to chase me.

How is the early Frozen Mallet? I'm thinking about using it pretty early in my build (Berzerker's Grieves>>>Infinity Edge>>>>Frozen Mallet) instead of late game, but I'm afraid I'll have a dearth of attack power.

It worked out pretty well. I went Phage --> Cleaver --> Mallet.

It created a good focus fire target for my team and it saved my life/helped keep me alive through fights. It's also really good for kiting or chasing.

I WAS going to go Infinity Edge at some point, but after building Wits for the MR and BT to keep me sustained so I could push after a fight, It ended up being the last item on my list - but we finished the game before then.

Looks like I missed a game invite from Will and Kaj unfortunately, not sure if it's due to server lag since they've been a bit laggy and I had a loss forgiven for my last game, or if it was just unfortunate timing with my game starting. Anyway, just had two incredibly short games, first one we won, in good part thanks to the enemy Kat feeding and just better team work/farm.They surrendered at 20. Second game, we surrendered at 20 because Rumble had fed bot lane Irelia two kills early on and just kept at it the rest of the game. I tried to swap with them or Eve, but no, they just wanted to keep dying to her. Probably waited too long to try to stop the feeding anyway, but I wish both games hadn't devolved so quickly into that.

Even though the enemy Rumble did put a ward at the top brush in anticipation for my gank, I still found ways to get around not being detected, and managed to snag a first blood kill on the enemy Shen. But our towers got pushed a bit early on, which was not good.

But in the end, we dominated the teamfights, and the other team eventually had to surrender. Though at that last teamfight - which forced the other team to surrender afterwards - I nearly died simply because the other team decided to focus on me first for whatever reason. Now I'm asking myself why the hell I almost died, despite the fact I was sufficiently armored. Ugh, need to look at what I did wrong here. >_>

You mean you aren't supposed to be killable?

If you really want my input, it's because Garen was the one that facechecked you, and I assume Nocturne jumped on one of you as well. Both are primarily physical damage champions, even with their abilities factored. I think Garen's only magic damage is his ult, lol. Nocturne's magic damage is his fear skill Paranoia. Shyt happened, I can't tell what because shadow papaya ulted.

Pro tip: there's a way to SS the result screen only. It's alt+PrtScrn.
