Black and White recent happenings thread!
HighOnMushrooms Wrote:Use a Synchronizer with Timid nature?

Derp. Gonna find a Synchronizer pokemon and come back. I'll also try to just settle with high 20s for IVs overall, instead of a 31 Speeder/high 20s Sp. Atker.

Even with synchronizer, it's still pretty hellish. I settled with 29-30.

Shiny reshiram/zekrom/victini = 0. If you see one, it's hacked.

Super Singles is handing me my ass. Got to 21, lost, and can barely scrape 14 now.

Hydreigon (Timid, 31 Sp. Atk/Speed, Expert Belt)
Ferrothorn (Relaxed, 31 Def/Sp.Def, 29 Att, high 20s HP, Leftovers)
Heracross (This is escalated from 3rd gen when I didn't give a pomegranate about IV's , so.)

Putting Ferrothorn on there solved quite a few problems, but a few pokemon still remain dangerous nuisances; especially Gyarados, Machamp, Crobat to a degree, anything fast with Hypnosis, Braviary is getting up the list...and if Togekiss comes in, forget it. If Hydreigon doesn't kill it in two hits (lol paraflinch), total party shutdown. And this is assuming it's at full health when it's sent out.

TO THAT END! Replacing Heracross with:

Conkeldurr @ Burn Orb (31 IVs in Attack, HP)
Drain Punch
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Mach Punch

Bulkier fighter, no 4x weaknesses, Guts boost off of that massive 140 base attack after it's been out at least one turn, drain off of a decently hard hitting attack, and a priority move. No more of that losing a battle by a hair bullpomegranate. It's a little slow, but I'll work around it.

If anyone who's been in the subway a lot can share their insight, I'd appreciate it. Every time I go there I seem to find some new pain in my ass I never noticed before.

Burn does cut its attack. Which is the sad part. If someone can stall you it might be troublesome, even if you have drain punch. I'd opt for a Bulk Up variant with life orb or expert belt. It's wrecked my team before after 1-2 bulk ups. That's just me though.

Guts (Ability):

In battle

Guts raises the Attack stat by 50% while affected by the Burn, Paralysis, or Poison status ailments. The Attack drop from Burn does not occur. In Generation IV, the Attack stat is also raised by the Sleep status ailment, even self-induced sleep.

Except it doesn't. http://www.serebii.net/abilitydex/guts.shtml

EDIT: Ninja'd

Guts negates the attack cut from Burn doesn't it? Or at least Serebii has it listed that way.

Edit: the pineapple, Southperry is plagued with ninjas.

Thanks for letting me know that. Almost swore it dropped the attack. Well, I guess burn orb looks like it would be very viable then CrimsonJohnny.

I hate super singles, I usually just try to get my BP from farming easy singles for 16 BP [just 1 pokemon can pretty much sweep all 21 trainers] or i go to wi-fi for 10 BP every train [but those can be a pain sometimes].

You really need a team of 3 that can cover eachothers weaknesses well. After a while you kind of know what the opponent is going to use, so you switch out depending. If i lead with my hydreigon and see a garchomp, i go into my jellicent immediately and burn it asap to cripple it. If I see a starmie, I go to my excadrill expecting a tbolt. Same with togekiss and twave.

Pick speedy pokes that are glass cannons, or get really bulky pokemon that can wall nicely. Sometimes you just get unlucky with the matchups and you just can't win.

Finished EVing my Bulbasaur, halfway done with my Droughtpix. After that, just gotta do Larvesta and level all of them to around 50. (Except Larvesta. Need to evolve it and level it to 100 for Fiery Dance e_e)

This is the same conclusion I've come to for the battle subway. Hit hard and fast, but lose durability. Tank and increase your vulnerability to hax. I'm not sure which strategy works the best for me.

Cloyster has done pretty well for me, but he has some bad flaws. I have Ice Shard instead of Rock Blast to take care of priority, but I haven't seen many of those. If a bulky water comes in, I'm screwed since they resist all my moves. His SpD is just awful and can't take a hit for crap. However, if he gets a Shell Break in, he will take down at least one poke with Icicle Spear.

Some pokes I'm looking at are Archeops and the Nidos. Archeops will hit extremely hard and will work great as a lead. Nidoqueen is a great bulky tank and can deal out decent damage with Sheer Force. Nidoking w/ Life Orb and Sheer Force is just a monster, hitting many pokes with Flamethrower, Ice Beam, TBolt, and Earth Power. His speed is the only thing that lets him down.

I was wondering if anyone has some good teams to try out?

Anyone mind doing a back and forth trade to evolve my Gurdurr? If you need any specific pokemon I could check what I have and send it over in return for helping. If so, FC is 0819-4122-4616

If you want a super extreme hard hit, give it one of the gems so it gets a 150% bonus + its ability which will pretty much guarantee a 1hko.

Play around in the wi-fi trains too, it'll give you some ideas since you're battling people that are comparable to your own team.

@Above: 0175 - 1924 - 7794 just let me know here or PM when/if you add. I don't think I really need anything in particular.

try a scizor or ferrothorn, their bulkiness is practically an abomination

To note

Scizor = have to xfer or somehow get scyther from DW
Ferrothorn = easy to get

Jellicent almost always kills something for me unless it's a ghost type and gets STAB shadow ball/night slash (cofagrius/zoaroak) or electric (I hate starmies). Extremely bulky, a lot of resistances, and 3 immunities (Need water absorb). It's Spatk isn't that bad either so it can usually 2hko something if it's super effective with scald.
