First thing's first, I'm not talking about active healing or Ergoth's regeneration, both which flash blue numbers. This regeneration rate I'm talking about is invisible.
Does anyone know whether the boss regeneration rate is a constant number or a % of its total health? I'm pretty sure it stands to reason that it only starts to kick in if the boss is left alone for a while.

I don't think any boss has regeneration when a player is in the map, though I may be wrong. Fiel commented that there's a possibility that Pink Been/Being has constant regeneration, but I'm not sure if this is true or not.

There is no regen for bosses, you can knock a boss down to 1% hp and come back and hour later ( assuming no one has kiled it) and finish it off.

Okay you guys, prepare for something shocking. I was farming steel a few days ago, and I had a habbit of leaving MMs nearly dead in case some people, arrogant hermits or otherwise, wanted to just jump in. No one came in for the longest time here though.
In the last SS, Heaven's Hammer recharged. That's just short of 10 minutes!
Also, during the entire coincidental experiment, I visited the ground floor occasionally to mop up the Iron Hogs for Steel Hooves, so inevitably I PGed MM occasionally. The boss life meter was pasted on my screen about... 75% of the time?
EDIT: Oh yeah, the original reason why I brought this up was because when I was on my fishing trips, I would often try to get HH+PG kills so I could SS the drops clearly. This fails occasionally though, even if HH does work as intended and the fish loses what HP you could see in its health bar, and during the first few failures, I thought that I probably timed it wrong, so I decided to PG the fish some more. And more. And more. It was clear that the fish wasn't dying, and in fact its life went up! Usually you just see no sliver of HP left on its health bar, which means it's literally within 30k damage of dying.

This information can be found in the Southperry database. It's one of the pros of having explicitly raw data. You see everything.

Notice the info.hpRecovery?
You can search for other mobs here.

What would happen if you killed the mushmom to 1%, let it regenerate fully and let someone else kill it while you're still in the map? (Yes I realise it would normally never happen) Who would get experience and drops? o.o

Whats the tick rate on this? By tick rate, I mean how much time does it take to apply, it acts like a HoT (Heal over Time).

I would assume that, since the regeneration works even if someone is in the map, it divides it up based on how much was killed. Meaning, if the HP ended up being 1.5x the regular HP, then the exp would be divided up.
For example, say I get Mushmom almost killed, with .01 of its HP left. Then I let it regenerate to a full, or 1.00. That means that the .99 I killed earlier and the 1.00 that it recovered is now 1.99 total. If a friend came and killed it, they would get 1.00 of HP killed. That would mean that...
My exp gained (no HS or anything, rounded to nearest hundreth): 49.75%
Friend's exp gained (no HS or anything, rounded to nearest hundreth): 50.25%
At least, that would make sense to me. And then you would just times the percents by the actual exp to figure out how much you or the friend actually got.

Fixed. You need to remember the 20% bonus for killing the monster.
I don't know how it works out though. The way they store the damage done to the monster.

It's most likely what NoJobNoRules said, and that's the most logical way, but if Nexon happened not to think it through properly (which is entirely plausible), it could possibly "erase" the last damage done to it as it regenerates.
