This, so this. There has yet to be a chapter entirely devoted to any of the characters fighting. The most there's been is a few pages. I WANT EPIC FIGHTS AGAIN. >:C

I like the fights and all, but flashbacks are always the deepest parts of the story. I hope they continue a bit.

Only reason I lol'd is because "It's a trap" and fishmen.

So far, this entire back-story has disappointed me. What did we learn? That Arlong and Jinbe were a part of the Sun pirates, underneath Fisher Tiger? That he freed slaves and covered the scar? That there's a prejudice against fish-men? We already knew all of this. the only thing we are learning about is Queen Otohime, but she died before the current time, so anything that happens to her is totally irrelevant. This entire 5 WEEK(and counting) flashback sequence was unneeded, and I for one will be happy once the Straw Hats finally start their real first post-time skip adventure.

Long ass flashbacks are never fully necessary. But it's important for realizing why queen otohime is so important. Obviously her daughter will change somehow to follow in her footsteps.

It just feels like Oda is just trying to fit so much into this backstory, that it feels like nothing is happening. I'm not feeling any connection with any of the characters, i'm just waiting to see the black borders fade back to white. It doesn't help that Oda has not focused on ANY of the Straw Hats since the jump. We have seen one, maybe two attacks from each of the straw hats, but all that served to do is show how they've become a ton stronger.

And why is Otohime so important that we need what probably totals an issue now of her just being a diplomat? I think a page explaining that she wanted mermen and human beings to live together would have sufficed.

This. He took like a month off or something to develop this and probably other things in the future. I'm not giving up on this arc yet.

He's gonna pull an OSH- wtp moment on us. In due time all... I mean it was the same way with the Sabo arc was it not?

I found the Sabo Arc to be pretty boring.
