I think his point is, before the patch they used them to make equipment that won't be deleted because they were used and not kept.

Quote:From what I saw in sleepywoods Yello subs, people didn't drop illegit scrolls like ordered, but instead used them. They weren't ordered to drop them till after they were unusable, therefore the premise of the complaint is flawed. Nothing but a roll back could've undone the sheer extent of usage they had for how long this was in effect.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

But think about it this way, what's more reliable, MTS which isn't affected by roll backs or hording scrolls? They are going to chaos scroll really expensive pomegranate so they can MTS it and hold it there until everything cools down. At least the ones who do the most damage per exploits.

Nexon's been seemingly bothering to patch the server crashing, not so much the botting. So if they're stuck having to farm and stuff drops at a .01% rate or less it slows the flooding down. Regardless Nexon actually has to do something about it and show they care.

Shidoshi Wrote:Or rather make those chaos and whites that come from events be untradeable. Then the most damage they can do with them is to make well scrolled equips, which is much less profitable and fluid than crashing the market of chaos or whites. This seems like the most reasonable thing to me. Hell, why not make -all- Chaos and White Scrolls untradeable? Fact is, events aren't the only issue. BT botters love them some Pyramid PQ, which is apparently a big reason Chaos Scrolls got so low in the first place. Also, any item can be duped, so limiting the supply of any item is just increasing the revenue for hackers. Up the drop rate so that the average user has a chance to find Chaos and White Scrolls, but lower the profitability by nature of the fact that the scrolls themselves are no longer a commodity. Scrolls are meant to be used, and used via legitimate purposes. Honestly, I think the 20% Scrolls are the most brilliant event item Nexon has had in a while and, if you ignore the mass hack, this has been the best-concocted anniversary in years. You can dupe those scrolls all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that they're going to blow your pomegranate up. Still, they give a nice boost to any clean item. But, yeah, they really need to bring back permanent event equips. They seem not to realize that minor, temporary damage boosts aren't worth the effort the make their players go through to get them.

I would love it if it were tradeable withint he account, otherwise it be such a pain in the ass and limit it's use like a double edge sword. Though I do agree with you reasoning, it needs some flexibility. Also another problem that arises is that meso is so goddam cheap that 2.1b is equalivent to about 600m was a year ago. Whites act as a form of "currency" for those big purchases, so before a step like this we need to take care of this meso deflation.

To my knowledge, Chaos Scrolls came in mass due to IRM hackers botting at Captains and other creatures that drop them like mad. The Chaos Scroll rate from PyPQ is pretty bad actually (even lower than that of the immortal belt according to what I've overheard some hackers discussing). Thankfully, PyPQ will be a memory sooner or later as it was removed in KMS.

Seriously, make new equipment, nothing end game but just fun to have, smiling mask was a good one. Or if you want to make chaos/whites better, increase the drop rate for them, or make whites HAVE a drop rate. That's the entire problem, these players are duping rare scrolls that have a definite peak in price. They just need to cut the crap with this "TURN IN 80 PIECES OF GLASS FROM MONITOR FISTING AND GET A WONDERFUL WHITE SCROLL.". It's the same bull pomegranate that always gets exploited the same way. No, you know what Nexon needs to do? Just completely scrap the scrolling system and change it to work like Vindictus / DFO / Lunia / Elsword / etc. in where it becomes an "Enhancement" system. You go to a weapon / armor NPC, use item materials and said equip, and then "Enhance" it to +1/+2/+3/+4/etc. The scroll system is outdated and annoying as pomegranate anyways lol

It's still a scrolling system though, which is where I'm getting at. Considering every exploit involves duping scrolls or mass producing scrolls, why not just rid the problem at its core? Completely change how you "upgrade" equips.

I just didn't bother mentioning how to work that part out. Your real name comes in when you have identical twins situation. It's a government assignation of SSNs... of course they'd have that taken care of. :3 And if for SOME reason you decide to name both of your kids the same name there's a failsafe based on which one is legally born first. Like I said, the math works <3
