seen better on streams lols

My GOD learning advanced dante combos is a pain in the ass... mission mode was nothing compared to these damn combos.

Don't worry about it. I've had the game for well over a month and I still barely beat very hard bots in training mode. I really should get a stick but I don't want to spend so much money >_>

Just ordered this stick. Art looks really cool, the reviews on it are great and the quality of it overall is supposedly amazing. I'm really starting to get into fighting games so I think this'll be a good investment. I guess I can take a break from playing marvel now until it gets here, since my pad skills won't do me any good once I get my hands on the stick.

Senwa stick and buttons are fine. For reference, I use senwa parts in my stick as well, and funnily enough have Rachel Alucard on my stick. I used the SFIV TE stick as a base though, but they're the same stick with a different art swap anyway.

If I buy one of 'em devices, I want to buy a Hit Box or just make my own.

Can't wait for the stick to get hear. I'm pretty sure it'll be worth the money unless something doesn't work for whatever reason >_>
I don't have much to play now.... I don't feel like playing marvel til my stick gets here and gears 3 beta is too easy to faceroll and none of my friends are playing it since they qq every time they die ._.

Wow that's pretty interesting. I wonder how much cheaper it is to make/ purchase than a stick.

Maybe once I get a stick I can pull off dante's ridiculously long, hard combos

I would never spend more than $40 on a controller. I really dont see the real appeal to a stick.

If i get a stick i will get the cheapest one around.

Buying a stick will not in any way make you go from decent to godly in any kind of fighting game. A stick would only give a real pro an edge, for regular players the effect will be flat. Don't waste your money unless you are aiming for tournaments.

Streams. I don't know if they uploaded the segments onto youtube.

they make inputs much easier and quicker once you get used to them and it's harder to drop combos on a stick than a control.

ex: bold canceling into a bunch of moves on dante in mvc3 is goddamn near impossible to do reliably unless you have a stick or something better than a pad.
Another example is that it's easier to do the supers you want with characters like super skrull and taskmaster who's hypers vary depending on the buttons you push to activate them.

The reason people spend so much on sticks is because ones with proper parts last practically forever. The Madcatz TEs have Sanwa joysticks and buttons in them, which were designed to withstand the wear and tear of arcade use, where people don't have to treat things nicely as they don't own it. You'll almost never have to replace Sanwa parts. Things like the Madcatz SE, with Madcatz's own buttons in them typically last a month or two before they start to die out and you have to replace things.

Then there's the fact that you have access to up to 5 buttons at once, one finger for each, whereas on a pad, you have to claw the controller to get all 4 face buttons, and that still leaves the triggers you'll have to use. In addition to that, it's far easier to do things like plinking in Street Fighter and double tapping in other fighters on a stick. Inputs are generally just easier to (except I've always found tiger-kneeing specials [doing an air special just barely off the ground] to be easier on pad).
