E3 Discussion

This is a little (a lot) premature but I'm excited about this years E3, which starts exactly one month from today (writing this with 7 minutes left on EST's May 7th)

Last years E3 was one of the best in years with Nintendo really owning the show. Ubisoft also had a really good presence.

This year we can probably expect a flood of awesome 3DS and DS games coming from Nintendo as well as Project Cafe's introduction. There's so many games already in production for the 3DS that I'm not sure what else they could possibly bring about. XBOX and PS3 should have a decent line-up of cross-platform and exclusives, since they're at the pique of their lives.

Anyway, point of this thread is to discuss what you WANT to see that hasn't been announced and what you're excited for that has.

I'm really excited about the potential Assassin's Creed III announcement. They stated that the next game was due for release this year so hopefully there will be some information about that.

Some information on Dragon Quest X which has been announced for the Wii a while ago would also be nice. 3DS 1 - 3 / 7 / 8 ports would be awesome too.

...there were a bunch of other games but I've completely forgotten them while writing this.

pineapple E3 is a month away? Tack that on to things I need to focus on this summer. Ugh too much happening all the time.

OT: I have no idea what I'd like to see yet because I haven't actively followed console gaming since I started playing Maple. Sad, I know. Now life is too busy to pay attention, but perhaps I can change that around this year. tl;dr is that this post is for me, to put a little green arrow on the thread so I know to respond later when I actually have something viable to say.

inb4 Ninty does some OoT3DS stuff just to spite even though the game comes out 12 days later.
But yeah, I'm really stoked to see what Ninty and Sony have up their sleeves.

Assassin's Creed Revelations has already been announced through Ubisoft's facebook. It's taking place in Constantinople and dealing with the Templars in the Ottoman Empire. anyway nothing gets me more excited around E3 time than new IPs. not necessarily different games, but different kinds of games. i like seeing a whole bunch of crazy new ideas thrown into the cauldron and seeing what comes out triumphant

I imagine we'll see some more information about GTA5 at E3. We already got that very small teaser to let us know it exists, and E3 is the place to give more information out for a game that big.

I have been impatiently waiting for Kingdom Hearts 3. The spin offs for the handhelds are nice and all, but I want the third installment already, damnit. >:

I don't think KH3 will be announced at this year's E3 either. Squeenix has said that KH3 isn't going to be in the works until vsXIII is done.

In LA... ugh well at least i have PAX to look forward too.

Nintendo wise, kinda hoping for news on a new No more heroes. Other than that, looking for news on Cave Story 3DS and more 3DS stuff in general. For Playstation, they need to crank out vsXIII and XIII-2 ASAP. Also looking for that new Ratchet and Clank all-4-one thing.

Hey guys, Project Cafe will be playable at this year's E3 and is launching 2012.

Sourcing a place that's getting sources elsewhere, hell yeah!

Something interesting:

- European/US sales lower than expected
- Nintendo “need to make efforts” to improve sales

Gee, I dunno, maybe if there were some hooking games released on launch day there'd be more sales. Not that I'd expect them to rush games to make them on time, I'd rather they not, but I feel Nintendo isn't realizing this is a very important part of why the system isn't selling. On forums everywhere there are threads like:
"Hey guys, should I get the 3DS?"
"Not right now, mine is just collecting dust. Just wait until games come out for it, and for the upcoming May update that'll give us a bunch of stuff that should have been included with the system from the beginning."

Everywhere, seriously. The sales will probably go better when there are actual games that come out, as of right now there's not much interesting about the 3DS. Mine would be collecting dust if it wasn't for the fact that my DS phat recently got lost and I need something to play DS games.
