I guess it was silly of me not to share my own secret in the OP. A young woman from another dimension telepathically communicates with me as we live parallel but slightly different lives, aging at the same rate and attending almost the same schools, occasionally advising one another, especially since we're both looking at careers in mechanical engineering.

Been that way since age fourteen and a half. It's interesting.

I figured out how to fly (Human flight, not with an airplane or whatever) about 4 years ago. I was caught by the military doing so (it sucks so hard living near a Naval base...) and now I'm not allowed to fly as long as I live in the United States.
