Possible archer hero spoiled?
Alloy Wrote:I'd prefer something along the lines of still an archer, but weaker...

HOWEVER, gets stronger with a party, providing buffs, AND something like a special skill where you can borrow self buffs from other classes. Like, if you are near a NL that uses Shadow partner, you get the buff too, or transformation, but with a bow, etc.

Tweak it out a bit, and you get an interesting class.

Blue Mage class. Use enemy and ally skills as your own!

that's kind of what i was thinking, along with something along the lines of aran and dual blade: lots of mobility and mobbing. i kinda imagined something like combat step (which all archers should have anyway), or maybe something a little more in the vein of dual blades, the way the combo their skills. i'm not saying it'd be a good idea but for example a slide-tackle that super KB's monsters, then an attack that propels them upwards and forwards, then an attack that fires a few volleys of arrows at the mob and then propels you backwards to the starting point, while you're in the air. things in that kind of sense

my awesomely weird mind pictures for archer mobility, a skill that allows you to grab hold of your Hawk/Phoenix/Eagle/Freezer and travel XX Pixels in a forward diagonal direction and the bird dropping you at a set distance. *i dunno i must be really bored*

Omg! Tranquilliser darts! x3 Healing pt members in a distance, could be very helpfull at that cygnus boss.

And I meant with "support class" = "Maple support class" = have a party buff or 3. Why not give pt members the ability to double jump, like you could fly for a second like them or something Smile that and the healing arrow (Tranquilliser dart) and something that adds damage like euhm... Ohyeah they'd have SE since they're archers. Because they have heal, ressurect and dispel would be helpfull too, that could be reviving dart and purification dart. And maybe another one to be sure: Maybe some kind of Smokebomb arrow? Smokescreen in the distance. Voila! Support class is born. Smile

So elves = some kind of nature-like nurse.

One thing that would really make them unique is having multiple summons out at one time. Not just crappy support summons like REALLLYYYYYYYYYYY helpful summons. Example 3 summons max
Summon one=Main attacker summon, hits a shyt load of % damage kinda fast.
Summon 2=Basically there to buff up the attacking summon. Can also deal damage but kind of minor
Summon 3=This summon would be purely support. It would have its own set of buffs to buff the player, and as well as heal them.

I haven't exactly thought of what the summons could be..but I'll throw an idea out.

Main attacking summon=Bear
Second attacking/buffing summon=Eagle
Third summon, buff only no attacks. Also can shield the player of damage= A deer, probably a Sika Deer
Heres the skills I've thought of:
1st Job
The Druids Memory
Summon Bear-Max level 10.
At max level does 350% damage and stays summoned for as long as the player keeps him out. The bear can hit 3 mobs

Summon eagle-Max level 10
Requires Summon Bear to be maxed
At max level plays a buff that increases the bears damage by 50%. The Eagle attacks twice on 6 mobs for 100% damage a hit. Lasts until a player presses the skill key

Summon Deer- Max level 10
Summons a deer that does not attack. The deer provides healing hp and mp every 10 seconds for 30% at max. Takes 25% of the damage the druid receives. Provides an attack buff that lasts 150 seconds and adds 5 attack, cool down of 320 seconds. All buffs are casted automatically, deer will stay out until player calls back.

Retreat step- max level 5
The player quickly retreats backward from imposing monsters. The force of the retreat knocks monsters back a small distance and can stun for 2 seconds at a 60% rate.
Max level movement:<=====:player:

Arrow strike-max level 15
The archer fires two arrows much faster than any other archer. Each arrow does 150% damage.

I'll do second job a little later XD. Basically the rest of the jobs is improvements to the summons and a few attack skills to increase the archers damage. Most of the dps and dpm will come from the bear and Eagle however. The archer will be fast but weak in attack. No hurricane pl0x T_T

Make a ballista class where they ride around in a ballista mount. Slow but powerful as pineapple.

1st job: pineapplein arrows
2nd job: pineapplein stars
3rd job: pineapplein Bullets
4th job: pineapplein Spears, where you equip a spear get it's attack halved and copies the appropriate sprite animation when you launch it. (Shows a pinaka rather than a "generic" spear).

pineapple YEAH. Equip main a bow, equip your ballista with a 180 attack VIP spear. Hell yeahhh boiii

Could they make a character who wields bows (obv) primary and also like an axe or another bow?

Either dual bows or like robin hood, with an axe/dagger too..

..that wouldn't really make sense, I know maple isn't supposed too but a bow clearly has two hands to wield. It just get way too clustered.

I was gonna say they could use one hand but I suppose you're right..

You need the other hand to shoot arrows.

one handed mini hand xbow pistols. Like windraiders have. then you have "cartridges" of arrows instead of quivers. Then you can have a 1 handed axe too.

That's called a Crossbow.

His main point is to have small enough crossbows so that you're also able to wield an axe as a secondary weapon.

Yeah, I believe so. But lets not forget that mechs get a semi hurricane type attack with Seige Mode.

I'm not sure, but I think they'll have to do something pretty innovative to make an archer legend that isn't just another Bow Master. I mean I really don't know what they could do other than having tons of summons, but we all know how maple summons seem to turn out. Rolleyes

Maybe an archer that has only one massive bar of health and uses hp for all of its attacks rather than mp (the mp bar would be missing anyway). Like some kind of blood ritual class that's become one with nature and thus uses various plant attacks and saps health from enemies using vine traps and what-not. Oh and Blood Arrow rather than Soul Arrow.

I'm just pulling crap out of nowhere in case you haven't noticed, but I wanted to add in some different ideas other than summons.

Actually I completely forgot about WAs. With that it would be the 5th. I included Mechs because their regular Missile tank hits pretty close to cane, if not more attacks/second (6/"shot").

I'm reallyreallyreally hoping that there's not another freaking cane-based class, it's really stupid..
Obviously Sairs don't RF for their main DPS, but 3 other level200 classes do.. =/

Yeah, giving a Hurricane type move to the Archer Legend would be the biggest disappointment ever. I didn't wait a year and a half for the Archer Legend only for it to be a clone of Bowmasters in the long run.

Someone on Basil actually came up with a really interesting concept today.

http://www.basilmarket.com/forum/2016965...quot.html#

Basically one universal attack button (although two would probably be better), with all other attack skills changing what the attack button does. Full movement while attacking is possible, and the archer can fire arrows in multiple directions (but no auto-targeting). The author mentions that the one button cannot be held down and has to be spammed, although I think it'd be better if you could hold it down to avoid potential carpal tunnel issues. Just make the delay like 0.35 seconds per arrow so it doesn't turn all of the archer's skills into a hurricane.

I think it's essentially something like playing the platformer Mega Man games or Zelda.
