2 Main parts
1st 3rd job build
I am cuurently finishing off 3rd job, and was wondering you 4th job mech opinions, on what skill is used sometimes or rarly still during 4th job lvls.
Skills in question are rocket punch, Healing bot, and rocket booster. Now my option is to max out two skills and one will be close to maxed. reason still saying rocket boost is because heard punch is never used and people still rocket jump rarly, so the mp cost going down and dmg up those last couple levels can help. Idk if healing bot will get better after chaos heard it will but not sure.
I havn't put in point into healing or punch, Hammer work great for me training.
Current plane Max Healing bot, Max rocket booster, rest points be in punch.
2nd question prob could make a whole another topic for
Okay I crunched some numbers aka i can be wrong. During 4th job you will be able to max all skills except one or 2. you will be short 25 points, now this does included Maple warrior and Heroes Will. My question is end game skill layout.
I was thinking skills I was goona lack on was Heroes Will only have 1 point and SG-88 have 9. In theory Heroes Will wont get used much but one point in it will be nice, and have SG-88 mainly a map clearing or hard reach monster attack. So rarly be used and when it will it Dmg output is high enough already that theres a good chance your KO the monster anyway. and other use clear boss spawned monster which most time when you boss your already higher lvl then boss and the spawn will die quickly.
Mainly what do you plan on having unmaxxed and why. I would like peoples input. Now im not talking 4th job build still planning that for myself and thought 3 differnt main plans that ill change depending on how maple changes and training changes.

Healing bot has uses. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Not having a healing skill when a VERY GOOD ONE is very easily available to you without considering current and future pot cooldown scenarios is extremely stupid. The other two skills are inconsequential. Doesn't matter what you do other than getting healing bot.
Safety sucks. Use it as a dumper and max everything else. Heroes will is important. Do not underestimate it's importance.

Well, your numbers are a bit off. You get a total of 243 sp in 4th job and in order to max out every available skill you'd need 245, so that's only 2 points short.
As for 3rd job, personally, I maxed everything except for healbot which got left at 18. Post-Chaos healbot will heal twice the amount it does now, so it'll probably be more useful.
Maxing rocket booster isn't really something I'd recommend. Post-Chaos the damage is entirely negligible and the mp cost doesn't really make that big of a dent, despite being high.
Edit: iirc Resistance characters aren't able to use job-specific sp in lower jobs (i.e. no 3rd job points in 2nd job skills). Might be wrong though.

thx for input. thx takebacker i was planing that. didn't know safety was such a waste. i mean mech are tank seem take little damage compared other class so. its alot easyer just hit pot button then doing safety recast.
hence why i said i was wrong i did the number calculations at work last minute. actully i think have master skill levels wrong to be honest. yup that was it. just check thx

This is right.
I also left my Healing Bot at 18, and even with the buff it gets in Chaos I'm going to leave it at 18. The only reason that I'm leaving it there is because you can't get the heal from just being in the bot's area to get the heal, you have to tap the down button to get it, so it's not useful in just about everywhere. The only place it might be of real use is as a lower level Mech in ani runs, but I've never once died there at my level or gotten close to it, so yeah.

Siege mode 2 is not a skill. It's a passive effect of missile tank.

3rd job: leave rocket punch unmaxed. There's almost no mech out there that finds any reason to even have it key'd anymore thanks to lvl 1 laser blast. Even on a big wide map where you'll be in prototype mode, you'll be doing a mix of drill rush and atomic hammer more than using punch. Hell after moving some mobs around you might consider switching to tank mode if they have a buttload of HP (compared to your damage) or if they dont.... they'll go down by using only hammer. So punch really gets no further use.

I never once used rocket punch to train, even before I was 4th job. I know several other mechs that didn't use it either.

FoolsLove is right, leave rocket punch unmaxed, used it for about 5 min before I realized that hammer was still better.
I can't remember were but on at least one good training map, using hammer is the difference between a jump attack hitting the platform you are on + the one above or just the one you are on

all these punch haters
punch depends on the map. in mp3, punch is better because of long horizontal range. in pirates it can go either way depending on how much jump you have. ghost pirates i like punch better. dgp... leave to preference. gobies, hammer. c-2 is all RnS and rush.
if you leave it at 18, you will never use it. if you max it, it has uses in certain maps and you have the option to not use hammer.
i left mfm at 18. another option was speed bot. i dont regret it. max heal bot for sure.
in 4th job, i dont really ever use anything but tank mode + rush while training (in exclusively lhc).

Atomic is still better at MP3. Punch has no uses anywhere. It's just a terrible skill, really.

I really don't understand the hate on punch. The 100% stun was a nice pot-saver for me in ludis clocktower.
I've tried again and again to compare the damage between punch and hammer, but I guess it just eludes me because I can't see any significant difference between them.

645% damage 60% PDR ignore vs 570% damage 30% PDR ignore? Pretty iron clad difference. Only saving grace to punch launcher after chaos is it's speed and range advantage.

103 mech here, still haven't put any points in punch. I've got max healing bot though, saves my ass at ani.

When both attacks kill a monster in the same amount of hits consistently, I'd choose the more spammable of the two. If it's at the point where the increase in damage gives a higher rate of 1-hit kills, I'd of course choose the harder hitter. The latter has just never happened.
But I could just as well ask why people would want to max healbot instead of leaving it at 18. Even after Chaos it's only a 4% difference.

Why max a useless skill when you can max an only somewhat useless skill?

because with the prevalence of bosses with pot lock and things of the sort, you'll want as much heal as possible. Also, once you hit 120, punch has pretty much no use. Those who like it for the stun can still get a good stun even if they dont max it. You get 6 mobs vs 5 mobs if you max it, but that's only important if you're gonna be training primarily with punch. that will only happen early 3rd job which ends rather fast and is replaced with other types of training such as RnS over at pirates.
