Getting off for now to do some more Japanese and then go to sleep. Before I go I'll post some tracks which I don't even know what the hell genre they fall in. They're slightly computerized, but real instruments still have a heavy role in them. Slightly ambient and glitch? Songs like this are usually long though, so only posting two. They're the kind of things you just sit down and listen to

Dubstep is a renaming of Drum and Base for marketing purposes.
I guess a 20 year old music genre / name isn't "cool" enough to be popular...  And hey, even after 20 years I still don't like it!

The best way I can describe dubstep is as two rhythms juxtaposed over one another, one, the bass and the underlying beat that the whole section follows, is conducted in half-time, while another beat on top is playing out in normal time, with different melodies/harmonies in different rhythms thrown into the mix as well depending on the artist's intentions. The Wikipedia article on Dubstep posted earlier actually has some basic beat tracks you can listen to that characterize dubstep, about halfway down the page on the right-hand side; if you're still confused I'd suggest checking them out.
And what's all the hate against anything but above mass posted modern violin/soft electronic fusion music? Don't get me wrong; I listened to half of the videos posted, and really liked what I heard. But the point of different genres, in my opinion, beyond creations of a certain personality of artist, are that, for the listener, they all capture a different moment and/or emotion. If I'm at the club or a rave I want to be listening to techno, dubstep, grunge pop, etc. If it's raining outside and I'm having a reflective day, I'll be listening to something like the first video Spidey posted on this page or Fragrance of Dark Coffee. tl;dr don't hate on other genres if you're not in places they're designed for.
