Plausible, though I'm sure now it's gone on for too long that either sides' feelings can be effectively numbed by a decrease in... exposure?
Those who are tired of it could just ad-block, as Mark does, iirc. (Problem with that being that no one should have to ad-block them to begin with.)

Why bother having reviews, then? It's the same idea in principle: You talk about what you like and/or don't like about something, for the masses to be able to read and understand/see your point of view.

This wasn't a review, it was an excuse to try and make people believe something while deflecting the true reasoning of liking it. Panacea said exactly what I wanted to say which is that no one cares that you like it, it's that people use it as a form of identity. They're so desperate to be a part of something. That's why shitty websites and memes exist in the first place. Pathetic people need to cling to any sense of attachment to other people as possible.
Honestly, I think a real psychotherapist would have a field day explaining pomegranate like this because it's so clearly a cover-up for some desperate feeling of loneliness. It becomes so much a part of your identity that you get this smug attitude when people attack it and you know you can count on those people that you're feeling connected to because of your common interest will back you up, only strengthening this make-believe bond.
In the end you're still pathetic, lonely and watching a show meant for little girls, though.

How is it a make-believe bond, if I may ask? Can you give me an example of a non-make-believe bond?

Sharing an interest with someone doesn't make you close to them, but it can make you feel close. That's what I meant.
Real bonds are forged through real experiences, getting to know someone personally in some way. I don't believe for a second that any of these pony fans are actually as passionate about ponies as they try to come across. I'd go so far as to say it's all a bit of an act.

Fair enough. I will say that it's certainly nice that the show does provide some common ground for people to form bonds over, much like pretty much anything else. It's sad it seems to have grown into more of a cult instead of something... better I guess? Not really sure what though.

You're absolutely right. I have no problem with Ponies, really. I have a problem with how the people on the forum act because of them.

I agree. I usually ignore a lot of the pony threads, but it doesn't change what it is.
Any fanbase is of itself a way to interact with other people. You meet people and then get to better know each other and learn about the other people based on who they are, not based on their defining characteristics relating to the show. People often take things to a fanatical level and lose themselves in the thing, out of the fear that people won't be interested unless it's related to the source or the popular thing, which just shows the other people in the group a mask instead of a person.
This forum itself actually shows how normal things usually happen. We all came here for Maplestory for the most part, but at least 25% of the most active userbase doesn't even involve themselves in it even more. People like me stay on a forum because of the people here, not because every talk and discussion with the people I consider friends on this forum is about some single specific thing.

I don't think any of us in the pony group in SP act like fanatics. We just really enjoy the show and use some pony images on the funhouse.
I think you all are bringing the hate from what you see elsewhere to us here who are not doing anything different than other groups (having a signature/avatar based on it and discussing it on the appropriate places). The pony group is by far the most active group in southperry, with over 250 messages.

It's a modern day version of the powerpuff girls, that's how I look at it.

You wanted to discuss this, and we're discussing it. I would appreciate it if you didn't generalize me with others, however, as I am not hating on you.
I already said I don't like or hate it; I am neutral. Some of the images are funny, some are stupid. This goes for everything else, too.
We understand you like it, and the reasons why (according to the person you quoted, 'Because it makes you happy'). Fair enough, but something that makes you happy shouldn't make others miserable.

And we aren't. It's more the haters who makes US miserable by coming into every thread containing ponies to express their dislike about it.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You spread your garbage all over the forum and expect us to shrug it off? You as a group, and you especially as a person, are at fault for all of the arguments and hatred. Go to 4chan if you want to talk about ponies, or go to your pony group, or even just make a single thread dedicated to ponies that none of us haters will need to enter. You inconsiderately flood every god damn thread with this utter trash.
You are the one at fault.

Both sides are adding fuel to the fire, but neither apparently want to admit it.
Until then, the hostility toward one group from the other will continue.

Would you kindly point out any of these threads you talk about? Besides the funhouse (and even then it has been some time since I last posted loads of pony images and it's normally on worthless threads anyway), I don't think there is an example.
Oh, and if you want I can provide plenty of examples of Erebus coming into all pony threads to post stupid comments.

I'm not Erebus so I can't respond for him, and I also intentionally avoid threads that I know are pony related so I wouldn't know of his actions.
But in response to your question: who are you to deem a thread worthless? And what gives you the right to then flood it with moronic images? By that reasoning we should all be able to screw with your threads as much as we want because we find them worthless. And just because it's the funhouse doesn't justify you doing it. It's not the "funforponyfans house". You CREATE a thread for your fun and stay the pineapple out of every other thread with your garbage. That's how it works.
For the longest time you've been the leader of the idiot brigade, even if you've personally slowed down, you're still responsible for what has become of this.

See, you admit I slowed down. I admit I was kinda crazy on the beginning but now I'm concentrating my pony efforts on pony sites or the pony group (where they are better recieved). I'll just occasionally post one or other reaction image just like Spidey would do, but with ponies.
Can you know forget what happened 2 months ago and live on the present?
