VIP potential nerfs.

So i've heard VIP is being nerfed to tier 3 because kms just introduced VIP weapons and they're tier 3 potential.. Now my question is, if I have the best tier 4 stats on a vip earring will they remain so or will the stats be nerfed during the patch?

Pretty sure KMS still doesn't have alien weapons of any kind. 130 equips are already in KMS so obviously since they are tier 3 so would alien weapons.

The real nerf is that tier 4 will cease to exist. Everything 81-200 is tier 3.

Because your question was answered by the person before me. Your real question just doesn't have anything to do with KMS so i addressed that part of the post rather than repeating something that is A) widely known already and B) already answered.

It's obviously not widely known if I have 10+ people telling me i'm wrong and the stats will remain the same after the patch unless you re-cube them. I'm just looking for more of the correct answer, nothing wrong with repeating the same answer if it's correct. One persons answer doesn't validate something but if enough people come and bring the same answer into play it's more believable since there is no proof to show it yet. Proof would be greatly appreciated but if it cannot be shown, it cannot be helped. Answers is all I ask.

VIP crossbow incident is the only proof to go off of and if you've been around long enough there's no way you haven't heard of that.

They will automatically be downgraded. If there is no longer a 4th tier, it would not make sense for the weapon to keep the fourth tier stats.

In essence, if fourth tier, which is now 121-200, is changed to be included in the third tier, then the third tier is extended from 71-120 to 71-200, and the fourth tier no longer exists.

Therefore, it will automatically be downgraded.

That makes sense to me but to others they don't think nexon will actually go through this process of reversing stats. They keep saying things like the HTP glitch with hammers, some of those glitched htp's are still in existance and people feel it will be the same for these earrings.

In that case what happened was they messed the stats on release of the VIP xbow to a level 27 weapon instead of 127. Instead of making a patch to fix it they changed the stats server side rather than client side. If you potentialed the xbow (which some people did) even though it was client side a level 27 weapon, it received 4th tier potential. Therefore, since changing the level changed the tier, deleting a tier/extending it will change the potential on existing equipment.

No real need for a link since you can just look at the extractions for the alien event to see it was marked a level 27 weapon. As far as your friends earring situation, VIP earrings are regardless of tier the best in the game. They're just super expensive.

There's no real proof GMS is going to nerf, they might decide to keep 4th tier, who knows. Chances are slim though.

Trying to predict Nexon's actions will more often than not lead to headaches and butthurt people when what they predicted doesn't happen.

It's often better to just wait and see what happens. Let your friend take the chance.

Wasn't it just the case that KMS never had 4th tier to begin with? GMS having a 4th tier might be something Nexon added themselves (hell if I know if that's even the case, so correct me if I'm wrong) so it's possible that'll be kept.

I honestly have no clue which it would be so don't take my word on this. Only way to find out is to wait.

False. 4th tier wasn't deleted. It was just changed so that all 4th tier values are the same as 3rd tier values.

KMS has had no 121+ items up until chaos. There is no way of knowing this will happen except through pure logic and assumptions. So this is nexon meaning:
They are not going to tamper with pre-existing weapons since they have always been lazy enough not to do so with items.
Of course, if you cube it post chaos you screwed up.

Just to sum things up.

- We don't know whether or not our 4th tier potential bonuses were included in the package we inherited from kMS.
- Presumably, according to the data, the update in question will bring about a final result that reads: THERE WILL NO LONGER BE SUCH 4th TIER BONUSES, REGARDLESS OF THEIR (NON)EXISTENCE PRIORLY.
- One of the two things will happen:
1/ Nexon America will incorporate this change rigorously: Bad news.
2/ Nexon America will change this update to preserve their unique 4th tier bonuses: Good news.

Scenario 2 assumes the following: 4th Tier Bonus was never included in kMS' package of potentials and gMS went out of their way to create it. If such was the case, you have the right to hope that they will work to preserve their accomplishments.

Why the hell is this thread going on? In essence, gMS will copy the same data from kMS and just translate it. That means it'll get changed 100%, and 4th tier (121-200) will be shafted into a 3rd tier expansion (71-200). It's ALWAYS been like this (with Nexon copy & pasting things). People with 121+ equips right now need to get over themselves.
