as much as i tried to like phantasy star online and phantasy star universe, i just couldn't ever get into it. i understand it's an mmo and the slow and simplistic combat system was by design for balancing but i just never really felt immersed in the combat. even in boss battles. for the most part boss battles were actually annoying to me.

I agree, but don't at the same time. I feel really immersed but not everyone gets the same feeling.

I only played PS0, which was ok, but extremely slow and there wasn't a lot of variation. This looks much better; the gameplay looks very smooth, and the graphics are nice.

Hells yeah.

OP's video didn't seem real to me. Like, how can a game render so nicely and be playable? (At least, with an average-end PC.) Looked like just some teaser footage to me, not actual gameplay.
