Takebacker Wrote:Oh. But does anyone really even care about those? They're just for s'hits and giggles. Now if they were used for the +HP pots or for weapons/accessories, on the other hand, they'd be a hell of a lot more necessary.

Alright, it turns out they are used for more than that, and, assuming I'm not looking at an old version of the recipes, so far, they're used in the recipes for the level 130 and 140 capes, giant bullet, infinite throwing knives, burning star, and all +stat potions, including the +4000 MaxHP one, and disassemblers, but in pretty small quantities, it's like, 3 max.

Oh and androids.

Also, some recipes require up to 20, but most are like, 3. Or 10.

Powders being used, for these game breaking potions? You gotta remember, small quantities or not you have a whole economy that will be demanding powders for this very reason. Right now powders are kinda meh thanks to 10x equipment drop rate and the fact dropped equipment can come with potential lines while Maker-ed equipment aren't too special anymore. The buff potions I predict will be demanded like water, especially when top server guilds are involved.

Aren't the recipes and potions themselves time limited?

IIRC purple magic powder is used in like every good potion.

Well, the best of these potions require purple, which I think is already pretty rare, (the better Giant Potion, the +4000 HP/MP potions, the +60Stat, +30 All Stats, and the lesser known 12 ATK/MATK potions that, since they give the same buff as the angelic rings, probably stack with other attack pots) and their lesser counterparts, which provide half the effect, require brown.

There's a lot of limits though, especially with the fatigue system. It'll take a while to get up to the recommended level, around 9 or 10, the recipes aren't exactly something you'd find every day, and even then, you can make like, 63ish potions in the day you get to use the recipe, maybe double if your fatigue runs back down to zero by the time it's almost up and if you're able to use the fatigue reducing potions again. So that's like 189~378 powders, which I guess is a significant amount, especially if you didn't collect before this since you have a 10% chance to get 1 powder every time you refine something, which is limited by fatigue.

There won't be many powders, but at the same time, I don't think there will be a large demand, except in small bursts whenever someone finds one of these recipe. The +4000 MaxHP potion recipe drops from Zak and Chief Obliv Guards, and those are fairly popular.

Purple is also used for premium androids and the level 130 and 140 capes, brown for reg androids, black for the giant bullet and burning star and +27 and +30 stat pots, and green for infinite throwing knives. The rest of them are pretty much only used in transformation pots and lower stat pots.

The recipes, yeah, 12 hours for potions, I think, maybe 24, I think which means you could probably only make it 63 times, requiring 189 powders. The potions don't expire or anything.

But fatigue is unlimited as long as you have enough mesos. :o

It isn't, you can only use fatigue potions three times a day, but I'm not sure if that's three times per variety of the potion, there's only two, -10 and -30, which apparently change during Jump (increases the amount decreased), or just three potions.

so taking out the powders and ores to prevent people from stocking up? smart.

Oh right i forgot about that little detail. Oh well. If fatigue is reset at 12 PST rather than every 24 hrs then i'm sure people will do the bulk of their forging late at night anyway.

@above: People will stock up either way. Taking them out of the drop tables only ensures far greater economy f'ucking.

IllegallySane Wrote:Can failing be done on purpose, for mass powders?

Also, do you get a random powder when you fail, or is it determined by what you were trying to refine? (For example, fail at refining mithril - get white powder; fail at orihalcon - get purple; etc.)
