Internet disconnecting frequently
#1
I have been having problems with my connection for 3 weeks.
I've start playing on xbox? I start a session and I disconnect from live. About 10-20 seconds later it's back. Same for maplestory. My sister has had this problem. My mom has but has not shown extreme interest in the problem, and my dad hasn't encountered it. This all took place in the same house. I got my mon to call my cable company. They say my modem is fine and to fix my router. I bought a new router yesterday. It worked...until my parents got back home today. I have no idea how to combat this. I cannot stay in sessions of anything that requires Internet active constant in whatever I do. It has become frequent and consistent enough to become unbearable. Any information needed I can give tommorrow.

Whenever you're alone home, kick out the router and connect directly to the modem/wall. Check if the problem happens then.

The router is connected to a PC and a modem already. So the wall?
I can't really do anything right now...I can tomorrow.

The idea is that if you're corrected into the modem, and the modem is fine, you should not have any errors. If you do, then it's their fault.

Are you connecting using wireless or wired?

Yeah, take the router out of the way and use the modem. If it doesn't work, then it's the cable company or the modem for sure.

The router is connected to a PC which has wired Internet via modem, that sends wireless to all the other wireless computers/devices around the house. If this isn't true, then I have no clue what's going on..

The normal PC works fine; nothing else would though.

Then I'm guessing it us their fault. When I disconnect the router shows no key lighting powered down, and cable said the modem was running fine.
