They don't shut down Tespia, they only close off the log-in process which eventually evens out. I'm sure they have other uses for the server so shutting it down wouldn't be possible / easy.

IIRC during the Big Bang Tespia SaptaZapta managed to stay on for around 3 days after it closed.

Now that I'm not running circles traveling -
I dunno about anyone else but I was still passing skillbooks before I went home Thursday and barely got to do anything before I got the "server's full DERP" error. Complete and total waste to me.
