Possible Thief Changes?

I'm more worried about Nexon giving theives their much deserved revamp, but finding new ways to make nightlords suck badly.

Flash jump skill animation update.

Really, it needs one.

And maybe a triple throw animation update.

Looking cool takes top priority.

Eh I dunno, I'm not that familiar with thief mechanics updates. More of a warrior person, personally.

I commented on flash jump because it was the most apparent skill in need of an animation update; put it up against its counterparts and it just kinda... looks like it needs a graphical rework, ya know? >_>

What's changed that caused everyone to think NLs are under powered while Shadowers are balanced? That's laughable at best.

What.

Let's see... Shadowers, after Big Bang have a decent DPS, mobility, support with Smoke bomb, can tank hits with meso guard...

Night Lords have Triple Throw, and that same mobility that now shadowers have. Alright, Avenger too. But guess what? In chaos, the triple throw formula gets changed, and even though the % per hit is higher, the damage done is actually way lower. The rest of skills are useless.

That's basically it, yeah.

How did I miss this? The restructuring module only list it as going from 250% to 280% damage. Never heard about a change in the formula before. Please be wrong! -_-

Some people report around a 40% total damage drop. Not sure about that, but yeah, we get crippled.

Of what I heard, the claw multiplier gets changed for lower. There's been no reports of Triple Throw's unique damage formula being changed though.

And what do NLs have?
The most efficient potion skill in the game, as much mobility as Shadowers, more DPS.

Less DPS.

Uhmmm. DPS for NLs is still higher.

Far from it.

There's an updated chart somewhere, but I'm too lazy to look for it at the moment. There's not much difference.

Trust us. A nightlord will have a lower DPS than a shadower given equipment of similar power. What may be throwing you off is the tendency for incredibly wealthy people to play nightlords.

Nnnnope.

And I'm not gonna feel upset this time, since people here have been thinking the same. A bit of research does the trick most of the times, but most people tend to think like how stuff was before.

The main mistake in thinking Night Lords have better DPS, is because before BB, Sharp eyes was ridiculously overpowered in our hands, making us truly beasts. However, without Sharp Eyes, we were mediocre. Times changed, BB came, and all people could see is they had buffed our % damage per skill. However, the critical formula changed too, and so, the sharp eyes advantage went away too, balancing us out DPS-wise, and giving us avenger as a viable skill (Before, Avenger was only useful on mobs of 5-6) for 3 and up mobs.

However, even balanced out to some extent, we have the most useless skills ingame. Shadow web ("stun" monsters until you attack them...), Shadow meso (attack with your mesos for lower damage...), Ninja Ambush (Deal damage over time that isn't even worth the skill animation time when maxed), Ninja Storm (Push enemies away so that you can attack them without punching... Oh wait, we don't punch anymore, it's useless now)... Then there's Meso up, but I still find it useful at times.

And the main problem with those isn't that they are bad or that. The main problem is that the first 2 are from third job, and the other 2 are from 4th. So our endgame skills are triple throw, avenger and flash jump. In fact, the 3rd job ones are so useless that I have all my 2nd job skills maxed, because those are all nice. In fact, 1st and 2nd job are very well designed. Problem comes with the rest.

When did that change? Is this with Chaos stats or Big Bang? Because when BB was introduced (and I quit for the third time :X) NLs still had more DPS. o.o
EDIT: NINJAD.

I haven't even started my NL yet. But i'm planning on making one soon and making it my main (Ugh 7th char) The only thing i would like to see, is indeed to have a few of those useless skills replaced with something else. I mean NL's are like ninja's there has to be a few good ideas for them to come up with. And a fj/sp animation revamp in animation wouldn't hurt either.

EDIT:
Have you looked at Hsalf's massive range attack? (The massive stars one?) Something like that with a cooldown would be. just so freaking epic for a NL to have.

Night Lords have way too many useless skills compared to Shadowers, too.

My main idea of Night Lords is "scapists". I'd love to have skills regarding movement, like double jump AND flash jump, or being able to create platforms for their party, like someone suggested, or weird tricks like that. In fact, I wouldn't add more attacking skills, just tricks, buffs or ingenious passives.
