It's official, I believe. I remember KMS having something like this for theirs.

The problem is Cassandra mentions something along the lines of "receive a random amount of tokens for trading in your Maple weapon." I've so far traded in 2 level 64 Wisdom Staffs in Tespia and both of them gave me 5 tokens. As to if it's weapon level based or purely random or such I have no idea yet.

Pretty sure we can trade any stats Maple weapon in as I recall trading in a badly scrolled Maple Shield in exchange for a lv 64 shield couple years back.

It's based on equip level. If I remember correctly, in addition to a level 64 weapon being worth 5 coins, a level 35 is worth 1, a level 43 is worth 3.
