yah. Say you have two users on your computer "Admin" and "Owner". Login using admin, open maple, switch to Owner, and open up maple again.

One of the best ways to do this, would be 2 seperate computers that are near or preferred.. right NEXT to each other. For me, it's a laptop and a desktop.

Why wouldn't it work? You would only need 2 accounts on your computer and two maple accounts, right?

If you do, make sure you have a lot of RAM =O. I'm saying 2 GIG + for XP and 4 GIG + for Vista (not exactly sure).

Gameguard spies on all the running processes and blocks a second instance of MS from running even if it's on another account... unless they changed it.

I think GameGuard detects and stops attempts to run multiple instances. If that's true, you'd have to bypass GG, which is most likely something not to be discussed here.
I don't know about you, but on my crummy XP computer I can't even "Switch Users" if Maple is running. It freezes while trying to load the login screen for the second user, so it's pointless trying.
The only other way I can think of would be to run another copy of Windows inside something like VMWare, and then run Maple inside that. That could get a bit resource-hungry due to having two copies of everything running at once.
Edit: Yeah, looks like while my browser was stuck in a time warp, y'all beat me to this.

I could keep up about 20fps in the VM and I'm only on a P4 2.8GHz :/ It was too much of a pain to keep up to date though, and installing MS in a VM is really pumpernickelty (it needs something like a 8GB virtual drive even though it only takes up 1.1GB)
I got a new HD since then so maybe I should try it again but I'm lazy (issue last time was running out of disk space for the VM.. lol)
I haven't tried putting it on my laptop yet though, it is running linux >_>

You should be able to do it with any VM, that is, if your computer can handle it.
My super rich friend had five instances of Maple running. He was on five different characters and talking in guild chat, alternating each sentence with another character. Annoyed the fat out of me.

I don't think you can open 2 different maplestory accounts on one computer though coz Gameguard prevents that. You can only do it with 2 differetn computers if both your characters are on different accounts.

There are many advantages to that, but the disadvantage is... my current desktop machine is too wimpy to handle that.
If you ever do it, please let us know how it goes.

sadly virtualizing is the only way to do that. everything else just wont work.
(unless you can unpack themida and disable the place where it checks if maple is already on, and then also bypass the crc checks)

You can just copy maple to the vm, no need to install it
Enable 3d acceleration in the vm http://www.vmware.com/support/ws55/doc/w...ng_vm.html so maple works (works with vmware player, no need for this if you are using vmware fusion)
With a fairly modern core 2 duo it works without lag in both host and guest system
