Dat boxing glove.
So I got to 18 and am now a Battle Mage...

... I have ZERO CLUE what to put points in, and any site I tried to look at only made it more confusing for me. ;-; I've been winging it before then, only because I knew my SP would be reset anyway. I'm a Spear user, looking for a PvE build, and I really don't know what I should have right now at 18 or what I should get as I level up...

wat do?

EDIT: Actually I just found a guide that was more useful... still, tips for a newbie would be naise.

EDIT 2: Should I get Ancient Memory/Indomitable Spirit at all?
>should join guild, bonuses etc
>sera can help

oh and to answer your question PROBABLY NOT.
I had some weird dream last night where I was learning how to play a witch.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD, FELIX.

*And to answer the Battle Mage questions: No Ancient Memory, no Indomitable Spirit. Those are useless for PvE.

Bare bones build.

It all comes down to the Chasers really. Neutral Chasers will always be left at 10 for a PvE build. Pretty much all Battle Mages max at least 2 Chasers.

Light Chasers (Weapon Uppercut) gives Attack Speed so you attack faster and makes Comboing easier. High level Chasers make enemies fly higher when hitting so it makes juggling easier. Can be annoying for parties as it can knock enemies too high for party members to hit. Light is a good elemental choice because most enemies are weak too it.

Water Chasers (Dragon Fang) buff physical defense and give a potential slow debuff. If you want the debuff you have to constantly level it and eventually max it. When it hits a enemy, its like they freeze/stay suspended in place longer. Generally a 3rd choice max after other chasers.

Fire Chaser (Palm Blaster) buff STR. They're one of the two hardest hitting chasers. Because they buff strength they help your physical skill damage. Fire Chasers knock enemies away from you so they can be problematic in parties as it can scatter mobs but if you know how to properly do it, you can use it to group mobs/push them all against the wall in conjunction with Palm Blast.

Shadow Chaser (Stabbing Wheel) buffs your Physical Critical Hit rate and your hardest hitting Chaser. I'm not too fond of this Chaser because you have to spam Stabbing Wheel and be dependent on Chaser Generator to mass produce them. There is also the effect that it pull enemies too you and if you don't adapt to it they can pull them past you and screw up combos. Also, a lot of enemies are pretty much "evil" or "dark" so there is also the resist. Shadow and Fire Combos work well in Chaser Press builds.

No need for Indom Spirit. PvP skill. Ancient Memory buff INT and because all Chasers are purely fixed, it provides a short damage boost too all of your Chasers.

You're choosing Spear so I would think you'd want at least Light Chaser Max in your build because they lack speed compared to the Pole Counter Parts.

Anything else?
^ Thanks, that helped lots. I figured everything else out, like what skills should be left at what levels and such, so I should be good. c:

I really want to know how the avatar system works, though... is getting a look you like with NX really luck-based? That's what it looks like from the clothes shop. x_x Of course, there are those event packages, but I really hate the look of the Mage outfit (and I don't even have that much NX).

Also, I do wanna join TeamRocket, I assume there are no limits to joining. :o

Mage dress-up is Dress-up Fighter Online. I don't have a mage but apparently Mage dress-up is super serious business and apparently no mage will give up a good looking mage avatar without a fight and/or a lot of money. Avatars work in seasons. After a certain period of time, certain avatars will be added and old ones will be removed. Certain old ones (generally the oldest seasons of Advanced Avatars) will be able to be acquired from Bind Cubes. Avatar Tokens generally only allow one roll for an avatar; however, during events Premium Avatar Tokens may be available, which gives you three rolls. If you don't like what you get the first time you can opt for a second roll and so on. However, the third roll is final and the final avatar is what you will receive if you choose to do three rolls. You are not allowed to go back and pick any of the previous rolled Avatars. Also, Gold Bind Cubes may be available from events. If I remember correctly, there is a higher rate of getting a Rare Avatar and only four Avatars need to be used to bind. In addition to Advanced Avatars, Normal Avatars, and Rare Avatars, there are event ones. Such event ones like the Halloween event and Christmas event ones have their own specific set bonuses, just like how Advanced and Rares get bonuses at 3, 5, or 8 Advanced/Rare equipped. However, their bonuses are often at different values and are part of a different set bonus, such as the "Holiday Masquerade" Christmas Avatar set bonus. Right now, the ~18k NX package for the "NPC Outfit" set is fine. However, like the Avatar Bazaar, the bonuses you may receive on the avatars are random. As well as that, the full "NPC Outfit" set is not included in the package. The rest of the pieces need to be obtained from buying an Easter Egg from Canna's stand in Hendon Myre. It's Nexon's way of milking more money because people want to finish the "NPC Outfit" set. If you need to look at what stats are available on Avatars, you can consult the DFO World Wiki.

Cool. If you need any future help with Battle Mage I'd be glad to help.

Maybe I am the only Ranger that does not like playing with piss poor weak damage... because it's still possible to pull off some pretty good combos with an upgraded level appropriate weapon. :|

The video is mostly for showing off. I understand you'd rather just blow up the opponent than to juggle them around for fun.
