Please understand my reasons for not speaking today. I am participating in the Day of Silence (DOS), a national youth movement bringing attention to the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their allies. My deliberate silence echoes that silence, which is caused by anti-LGBT bullying, name-calling and harrassment. I believe that ending the silence is the first step towards building awareness and making a commitment to address these injustices. Think about the voices you are not hearing today.
Although I'm not any of above, no one should be abused or harassed by others because of their choices and their beliefs.
So did you participate today?

I do that on a regular basis so wooo. >_>
My point is how can we encourage people whom are being hurt to speak out if, to encourage them to speak out, we shut up and don't speak? Herd mentality: "Well if everyone's quiet I might as well keep quiet."

For get this ever existed then. I forget that unless something makes logical sense in this forum, then it shouldn't exist.

UW-Madison organized a Break the Silence march to our capitol today, which drew hundreds from around the state. It was cold, windy, and rainy, but we still marched proudly, and, oh, had a giant awesome rainbow flag.

I participated in that today, however everyone thought I was being silent because of the Texas school budget thing.
Yea, this day was a mesh of all the gay supporters being quiet and students marching up and down the street outside school.
