Some things I don't really get, what are friends for, how do I get those cool updates, like the kanto starter pokedex skin, and and does the pokemon in the forest clearing stay forever?

Find a Pokemon was easy. Just move quickly, check for moving objects click, move on. I finished in about 1 min after checking every map. Failed the first flying race for a Poochyena, passed the second for a Nidoran(F).

I have no idea what to do or how this really works though.

Sign up on the site, connect to game sync in game. Reset game and check game code from main menu, register it. Tuck a pokemon in. Click the Dream World thing at the bottom of the screen on the global link site (says currently available). Now you can play with your Pokemon, etc.

Finally got in but loads slow as pineapple. Also, since no one posted it yet:

US: Tuesdays: 3:00 a.m. EDT to 9:00 p.m. EDT
UK: 07:00 Tuesday to 01:00 Wednesday
Australia: 15:00 Tuesday to 9:00 Wednesday (AWST)

So...no access on tuesdays? =(
