Hmm... Now what?

All I have left are :

Pachimon (Pachinko Machine monster) - Only available in Pachimon summoning bags or if you're EXTREMELY lucky enough to get a ticket to enter the Pachinko dungeon from Pachinko...

The three KFT Goblins - I tried hunting these things... Apparently, their card drop rates weren't raised with the rest of the cards... It's going to take A LOT of requesting and rehunting...

Homonsculu - The problem is that the JPs are online in that map literally 24/7...

Kachuu Musha - This one may be hard to find... But if I find it, I may get a card.

Time Temple Oblivion Mobs! - I haven't been there since the horrible rate of Chinese hackers were there... I'm too lazy to keep doing those quests at the moment. :S

Golden Giant - Shaolin Temple boss - RARE AS HELL spawn boss ._.

The other Shaolin Boss... - I don't know its name, but I know that I need to complete 100% of the quests to get into its room to fight it. I probably need a party as well.

FUTURE TOKYO BOSSES AND MOBS! - This should be fun, when I don't even have people to run with...

Davy Jones! - The... PPQ boss

Frankenroid - R> Magatia PQ

Crimson Balrog - Eh... This shouldn't be too hard to get. Brb AFKing on boat rides.

Horntail - F#%@$!&

Leviathan - ...I haven't seen one of these in ages.

Papasshu! - Mushdad/Blue Mushmom... 48 hour spawn. Fun.

Tengu - Hunted out the ass

Anego - Always serving as a whore. I won't find one any day soon.

Grandpa! - looooooool L> Onyx Apples! I may be able to take down the body guards and it... but I need at least 13 more levels.

Tonosama! - Well, I'm boned.

EFPQ boss - ._.

Dodo/Lilydouche/Ryka/Pink Bean - Dodo? Fine. Lilydouche? Easy. Ryka? Tedious, but doable. Pink Bean? ...........

Mu Gong - Okay, what? The Mu Lung Dojo final boss drops a card?

Mushroom Castle Yeti&Pepes! - L> Partner ._.

Dragonica / Dragon Rider - I've never even done this PQ. I never see anyone run, either.

Papa Pixie - F'ucking OPQ

Scholar Ghost - Where does this guy even spawn?

Straw Dummy anti-bot thing - EH... I don't think this will be TOO HARD to find. It may be over-hunted for the next month or two, though.

Magatia anti-bots : These aren't going to be easy to find.

Tae Roon - This one may not be easy to find.

Kimera - I need to redo this quest as well...

CWKPQ Bosses! - God damn it. I don't even have the prerequisite item yet! The damn thing is so rare...

Manon/Griffey - These will NOT be easy to find...

Big Balrog Boss - I've never been on a successful run, nor do I have anyone to run with. F'uck me.

All of those prevent me from furthing leveling my monster book. FFFFFFFF

The Scholar Ghost appears in the map with the three Goblin NPCs. Not to be confused with the map where you drop the different types of food to summon the goblins, but the next map after that through the house.

What does your book give at this point and if you level it more, what CAN you gain?

Iirc the best potential set is the one that gives +10 str/w.att. You should just get that and live with whatever +all stat the book gives now.

I think that's the Shaolin Temple one, which will be... rough to get, if I can even get it. lol

For some reason, leveling the book doesn't affect what stats the sets give. I think it's a bug, unless Fiel's tables are somehow incorrect. My book is supposedly level 6 (going by the fact that I have almost every card, 19 sets completed, and my book gives +6 to all stats), but my potential bonus from my area boss set only gives +1% all stats, whereas Fiel's tables say it should be giving me +2% to all stats at this level. :S

Definitely, definitely, definitely do not want.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against people having to work less than I did to get to the same point as me after some time has passed, because that is the nature of evolution - things get easier. But I do have a problem with things being handed out on a silver platter to people. There should be SOME work required. This is the same as if they had put a monster book package in the CS and said "BUY ALL CARDS ONLY 8K NX"

I agree. I don't want to finish collecting all the cards within a week.

But people also don't want to spend months on ONE monster, to just get ONE out of the FIVE cards you need.

Only need one card per monster in this version.

Oh~ In that case, I agree with you.

I do agree that card drop rates need lowering, but no where near what they were before. Collecting one card in the book was tedious as hell unless you were grinding at that map anyway, which wasn't the case with most monsters and probably still isn't.

Saying it's the same as giving out all cards in a cash shop bundle, however, is stupid. That's not even a similar situation.

What I meant to say is that they might as well be selling them in the cash shop because going in and buying them would require the same amount of effort as "hunting" for them does now. Obviously that's an exaggeration but in the same hand it's pretty close to the truth if you can find almost all cards in a week.

It's like the Quest Specialist medal, really... the majority (probably 700+ completed) are quick, and you could do them in a week or so, at about 100 a day. The last 150~ are pains in the ass, require killing specific bosses, etc. and take a lot longer.

I do wish the normal mobs would require a solid training session at each. Say, 1000 kills. This for anything that spawns normally (every 5-10 seconds, 20+ in the map).

You also have to realize that I'm level 162. Not everyone can obtain all of the cards so easily. You still have to go out of your way to obtain a lot of them and a lot of them also have a certain level requirement, considering the new monster levels. The rest of the cards I haven't obtained are still challenging, since those are mobs that most people can't take on without a lot of preparation, time consumption or connections.

Even seeing HT/PB is difficult in itself, must less seeing them die and then getting a card which will hopefully drop without any competition from anyone else who wants said card. They made the collecting generally easier but to complete the entire book is still extremely hard.

I still disagree with the way it has been redone. Monster Book should be a challenge and REAL achievement for all levels; high levels should not find it much easier than others, they should just have a wider variety of monsters to hunt.

That said, I've also stated repeatedly that random drops are not the way this should work. Star Ocean 4 had one of the greatest bestiaries and it would work just as well in maple. In order to fill out entries you had to kill a certain number of monsters. Small, common monsters gave 1% per kill (100 kills). Large, rarer monsters gave 3% per kill, and bosses gave 20% per kill. Obviously those numbers would need to be lowered a bit for maple given that even the 'rarest' monsters can be farmed to some extent while the most common come at you in hordes. Bosses at 20 - 25% works perfectly though, as it encourages multiple feats. And of course, party kills would count so hunting in packs would be beneficial. As it is, you DON'T want to be around anyone when hunting cards in fear they will get the card you want.

This method fulfills a lot of what maple is lacking, which is fair party benefits, collectibles and accomplishments. The reason I normally hate partying is because people will try to screw you over, with the system I've suggested in place that would be impossible. And it's measurable, which is always nice.

I'd very much love to see it come this way. Also to add onto it, after a certain amount of kills, then it drops the card(that only you can see), if you don't loot it in time, your kill count for it resets(to avoid leeching the kills for completion).

The JMS monster book looks less appealing after seeing it's so easy to complete the majority of it. s:
