I feel so inexperienced at this x_X
Anyone else replayed an older Pokemon game recently and feel so noobish at it?

Nope. Nostalgia kicks in and I play the game almost off of memory. Other than the physical - special thing. Never learned how that works.

Physical and Special depended on the type. Something like:
Physical:
- Fighting
- Rock
- Normal
Special:
- Psychic
- Fire
- Electric

^Basically that. I used to have a type chart with which types were counted as what, but I can't find it.

Eh, Yellow version was too boring, so I'm replaying Crystal (VOLCANO BAKEMEAT) instead.

Easy way to remember the Physical/Special types is that all the Eeveeloution types (including gen 4 ones) plus Dragon type are all special, and all the other types are physical.

Rule of thumb is simply this: Does it sound elemental or is physically impossible to replicate? If yes then it's most likely reliant on the special stat. More physical sounding/possible attack types use the physical stat.
An exception is Ghost, which uses physical stat despite being physically impossible to do, like Shadow Ball.
