Canada

Hey Canadians! How's it going up there?

Well, by school I was given an opportunity to go to Canada for next semester. Though this is very little probability, as ALL of the state is under the selection of the exchange. I would go to Alberta and stay with some Canadian family, and in 2012 a Canadian is going to come here.

I just told some friends about it and one said that Canadians HATE English (the language), that's why they talk French. That seemed quite silly for me, but well, I've never been to Canada (although he neither), so YOU tell me, is that true?

Also, how do you feel about American jokes?

I hope I see one of you if I go to Canada!

The only province that speaks mostly French is Quebec. New Brunswick is the only province that's officially bilingual.

Yes, there are Albertians on SP, no I'm not telling you who they are. I'm not one of them.

If by "next semester" you mean fall to spring, you'll be freezing.

Alberta is so cold and snowy we have a special term for snowstorms that travel from there. Alberta clippers.

Yes, fall to spring. I know it's gonna be freaking cold hah, that's going to be a great difference, coming from the mother freaking heat here in Mexico. But I REALLY love cold weather. I totally hate the warm time of the year. So yeah, I'll have to take like a dozen jackets. And... snow!!! OMFG this would be the first time I see snow! (Well, it snowed here when I was like 2 years old, but I don't remember anything) yaay Big Grin I REAALLY hope I get accepted.

This is true, we all speak french. Luckily vBulletin forums have these translation packs or you'd never be able to understand members like myself or Rayquaza since we both post entirely in french.

bein c'est pas si mal que ça. Je pense que tu iras avoir beacoup de fun.

Edit: huh, translator must of tricked out on me.

Also, those Canadians that hate English (and anything else that's not French Catholic) are all up in the farmlands of Quebec, so you don't really have to worry. Their pitchforks and really heavy Quebec accents are half a continent away =p

For the most part you'll like Alberta. I live about an hour and half from Lloydminster which is a border city to Saskatchewan. During the time that you're expecting to arrive here, Alberta will be covered with snow, and very, very cold. A lot of the country doesn't actually speak French, like Ray said, and Alberta is probably one of the provinces that hardly speak French at all. Hopefully you get to come!

After about a week of gorgeous weather over here, and the white stuff melting... It snowed again >.> Nature's cruel attempt at an April fools joke was not received very well.

Dude, DON'T go to Canada eh. It sucks. Beavers invade my igloo every other day and it's really annoying. Also there's so much snow that we have to ride polar bears to school, and fetch syrup for ourselves. Ugh.

The only good thing about Canada is that everyone goes whale watching and play hockey after school. Everything else is bad.

That sounded boring to me. At least the hockey part, I don't like hockey that much. Hell, I nearly even like sports, I only like basketball.

Igloos, beavers, bears, and snow, please?
