Sucker Punch

Walk into the movie, watch the first ten mins, walk out, do something else, and catch the last half hour. Please don't torture yourselves as I did tonight. The writing in between those two periods is so bland, I actually wanted to leave. I've never done that before for a movie ever. The action is great, but it is the same thing over and over.

So, please, first 10, last 30, and you are good. I kinda wouldn't even recommend doing that. Just don't go see it even. Maybe if you need to see it, do the previously stated rule.

Why has this year sucked movie wise?

I watched this as well tonight.

Personally, the story was bland, and that is almost the only reason they had the visuals. That taken into effect, its a decent movie with the visuals covering the story.

On top of that, the ending was easily an Inception take, which added to the meh story at least a nice bit, allowing for some satisfaction.

Yea, seems like this movie is just for visuals.

The story...sweet jesus. I can't stress it enough how much I hate it is. The plot is just a lame excuse to have good visuals.

Other way around I would say. Without the visuals, there is a 100% bland story. Escape from a mental hospital with items that sound like they would be helpful? BORING!!! Slap an alternate take on how you acquire those items as well as another layer on top of that to make everything seem sexy? Interesting film for some.

Out of all the movies coming out this summer, this is the one I wanted to do the best. Sadly, it didn't.

Green Hornet
Ip Man 2 (first one was an awesome martial arts movie - excited to see this)
Unknown
The Adjustment Bureau
Limitless
Rango
Red Riding Hood

Already 7 titles on my list to see at the cheap seats (am a broke college student Rolleyes) and we're barely into April. I'm satisfied.

EDIT: Not to mention Captain America and Thor.

Good thing I get bootlegs so I never have to waste my money.

And yes, high quality ones, not that, ''Oh, I can see people walking in front of the camera'' crap.

Only Rango and Adjustment Bureau were any good from that list. I want to clarify and say that the movies I've wanted to be good, weren't so much at all.

Ah, alright. And eh, I'm easily pleased. Unless your version of "good" is movies that get the highest ratings by critics and viewers alike.

I don't want to die on the inside because of terrible writing. Sucker Punch was terrible writing. It looked amazing (scenes, fights, places, etc.), but no amount of cleavage and fish nets could save that train wreck.

I'll be the first to say it. I watch a lot of anime. A lot. And even I found this to be garbage. And not because of 3D pig disgusting etc. God damn was Emily Browning hot. But pineapple did this suck. If you like literally no story with your movies, it's worthwhile I guess. Cinematography was fantastic for the actual action scenes, but everything else was just absurdly bad.

Sadly, my friend had a few buy 1 get 1 free tickets, and he had already seen Limitless.

Never said the story was good or bad. Honestly, the whole time I was watching it, I felt like I was watching some dude play a video game. The whole CGI scenes made no purpose to the movie. Yea, if they removed the CGI scenes the story would suck. Then they shouldn't even make a movie like that. It's just stupid and arbitrary.
In the end, I still stick with my point that the CGI was uncalled for and without the CGI, the movie would suck. So, the movie shouldn't even have existed in the first place.
