It looks like he's stabbing with a metal arm, a la T-1000.

Maybe it was a bit of a stretch.

No, it was stated that MapleStory 2 will show its head at the end of 2011 or the beginning of 2012. It's entirely its own game.

I think it is. Achilles.
Only the Paladin(?) got to keep it?

It has been mentioned earlier. Fiel has already stated that rather than fix it now, he's going to fix the script used to post the changes.

And as for Maple Story 2, with as much massive work that is being done to this game, do they really have time or the need to create a sequel?

inb4 MS2 has a fatigue system!

Fatigue systems are for games that can't produce enough content to otherwise keep players from "winning" the game.

I'm aware MapleStory is popular for its social aspect. If you can't tell, I absolutely hate the game and I've stuck around for years just because of the community (not the community in general - I mean my ties to buddies, alliance, SP).
Sounds familiar. I think I've seen posts from you that say as much.

It's a rather unfortunate fact though, since thriving on the social aspect means they have less motivation to perfect the gameplay.
Then again, at least it's not Farmville. That game was dated the day it released.

It was.

However, I think the comparison works if you consider that both the T-1000 and a Paladin just. won't. die.

Mind linking an article? The ones I've managed to find say early 2011.

Even if it was allegedly set for later, there's still this issue...

You've hit it right on the head.

Maplestory still isn't finished. They're still developing and releasing content for it.
Hell, they're still balancing it.

You don't continue developing content for a game if its sequel is waiting in the wings. That's fiscally irresponsible.
Honestly, I wouldn't see Maplestory 2 landing until 2013 at the earliest.

Or for another excuse to get players to buy CS items.

People at lolbasil say the Dark Impale skill has a fixed weapon speed meaning the weapon speed stays the same with whatever weapon you're using, is this correct?

I think you might (or they might) be confusing two concepts as they are correct and wrong at the same time.

If you have a PA and a Spear that are both the same speed (i.e., Normal(6)), then Dark Impale will run at the same speed on both. The weapon speed is not attached to the skill and having a faster weapon will allow you to strike faster. Also, since Big Bang there is no penalty for swings and stabs with spears and polearms, so it doesn't matter which weapon type you pick for this skill.

And calling them lolbasil? Is that really needed? They produce some very well written guides. Their community is not trash. Please don't treat them like it. We are better than that.

All right I guess you're right about their guides, they actually had helped me a lot with those guides about everything.
I'll not call them this way anymore because I really think it wasn't appropriate.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
But on a side note, the community can sometimes get on my nerves with all the trolls, but I guess no site is perfect especially not one with such big amount of members containing a mixture of both trolls and the rest.

That's simply the side effect of a larger populace. Such a popular site is statistically more prone to herd behavior. That's the reason everyone in the world thinks UA Palis are the best thing evar and how the ridiculous interpretation of the experience coupons spread. Personally, I was repeatedly frustrated by the leagues of people who believed that the LHC equips were synonymous with the 130 equips.

Yet it's that same mass populace that results in more concise, accurate, and regularly updated guides.
I've yet to stumble upon a site with better guides, to be honest.

Good rule of thumb is to stay the hell out of the General Maplestory section and stick to the class-specific sub-forums if you want to avoid a mass bleating of stupidity. I just check in there to see if there's anything big going down since it essentially becomes a Twitter feed in times like those.

Yes, the owner and mods are shoddy, but it's not worth dismissing.
Southperry is supreme for getting down to the numbers and speculation, but Basil is generally more practical.
