The second is one of the best if not the best episode of bully beatdown.

Cool story. Let me know when you're jumped on a daily basis just because some punks in your school find it fun to make coolaid spill from your nose, then tell me it's cool to just ignore it. Though this would be a case where authorities can actually do something, while in most others they won't.

My point wasn't ignoring them, it's to stop thinking they somehow have the ability to do all that crap and get away with it. Stop thinking 'oh here we go again' and start fighting back. Doesn't have to be physical violence, although it is a solution sometimes.

I don't know the situation, but I'd say it's kinda likely the bigger bullies used the little one for humiliation factor.

Makes me think that they purposely told the smaller one of the group to make a fool out of the dude. Not that the smaller kid really has an excuse, but maybe it was peer pressure of his fellow bullies combined with a false sense of security that they have his back in the event of things escalating.

and in this day and age, phones/ipods/whatever are capable of recording video. most fights i have seen are always recorded by atleast 3 people so they can look back to it or show their friends who werent there to see it in person, its not always recorded for the sole purpose of posting it on the net.

Chances the bigger one -wasn't- the bully, because of his appearance.

He doesn't look very intimidating, and looked like this isn't the first time he's been made fun of or hit. He's also overweight, and usually the overweight person isn't the one doing the bullying, they're the ones receiving it. Now, yes, there's no way to no for sure, but it's almost certain the smaller was the bully and the bigger was the victim.

I laughed. A lot.

What makes this so damned funny is that we had a near identical situation arise at my high school back in 2002 when I was a junior. Only there was no Zangief pile-drive, just a severely shattered hand and wrist. Our lunches were split up into three thirty-minute periods through out the span of two hours. As juniors and seniors, we were in the c-lunch period, which just so happened to be the lunch all of the special-needs guys ate in. They were a great group of guys, too. They were all as nice as they could possibly be. Two to three days out of the week I'd eat over at their table because a few of them could actually carry on a great conversation with you. Anyway, amongst these guys was a very tall, burly cross-eyed guy named David Asker, but everyone called him Davy because he preferred it. He was severely mentally retarded, couldn't hardly talk, and had a very noticeable deformity in his hands, but he always knew how to make everyone smile.

One day as I was leaving my AP Biology class, Davy was walking past our band hall and a Mexican kid not much bigger than the one that got Michael Chiklis'd in this video approached. He started giving Davy the finger and cursing at him in Spanish, all while trying to shake Davy's physically disabled hands. BIG mistake, dipshit, big mistake. As he reached over to try and shake Davy's hand out of pure spite, Davy grabbed back. When he did, he pulled an "Of Mice and Men" on him and literally crushed the kids left hand, leaving him screaming in pain. It didn't take long before there were teachers swarming the halls. By this time, Davy was already in tears, and completely unaware of what was going on. All he knew was that someone was being a douchebag, so he fought back the only way he could. The kid ended up having a severely shattered hand and broken wrist that required surgery to fix. Several pins, needles, and plates later, the kid returned to school with a huge cast on his left arm, which served as a daily reminder that he got his world rocked by the "retard" he was trying to bully.

All in all, if you are fucking dumb enough to bully someone twice your size, be ready when the curtain falls, because you're not going to get any sympathy from me. Sure it would have been terrible if that kid had sustained bigger, more debilitating injuries. I would have never wanted him to be completely destroyed, and he wasn't. He was Zangief'd by a kid twice his size for thinking he was tough shit. Part of letting your nuts drop and growing up is learning when to realize that, more often than not, there's always a bigger person. So yes, I'm glad that kid got the sense beat into him. I bet he won't ever fuck with Casey or anyone else bigger than him again. >_>

Well, I have to reply to this one because one of my co-workers showed me this video 2 days ago. I say kudos to the big kid for not tolerating it. I guarantee that little punk will think twice before ever attempting that again.

Sarah, I adore you but have to disagree with you here. In my personal experiences with myself and with my daughter, officials do NOTHING to stop bullying. I honestly thought things would've changed drastically for my own children as opposed to 25+ years ago, but they haven't.

It took me taking out a boy a year older than me, a foot taller than me, and 50 lbs heavier than me to stop what was happening to me. After months of daily abuse and no action being taken, I took matters into my own hands to finally put an end to it for good.

My daughter.......I'm SO proud of her. She's VERY outspoken and will defend herself, and others who are unable to if she feels something is wrong. After going to the dean's office one Friday morning with my daughter and my neighbor's daughter, INFORMING them of a situation, problems arose less than 30 minutes after me leaving the school. The girls did as they were instructed to do, by me, and went straight back to the dean's office and phoned me. I go to my neighbor and we decide to pick the girls up and hopefully let things blow over for the weekend. I call and say we are coming to get them. Then the idiot decides to send my daughter back to class. We get to the school and they tell me my daughter is in a room so I go in and open the door. (they don't say ONE word to me before hand) I walk in and my daughter is crying and has scratches all over her face. I'm like, wtp happened? Two girls jumped her in the middle of class. The teacher did NOTHING to prevent or stop this. Thankfully, my daughter ended up getting the better of both girls during the fight. My daughter was suspended, given a court citation, had to go to mediation, etc. I pretty much 'high-fived' her right in front of the dean because he was already forewarned of the situation by ME, not 2 hours prior to the incident.

Guess what? Not a problem with any of these kids since. They WILL think twice before doing it again.

ETA: By the way, both of those girls were MUCH smaller than my daughter but because they run with such a large group of other kids, they thought attacking in multiples would work. Not so much lol.

I, too, got bullied when I was like 13-14. A straight punch to the face solved the problem.

Then, again, when I was 17-18. I thought people during that age would mature and stop being f'ucking idiots. I didn't hit them.

Pretty much sums up my view after reading through these posts. If you want the bully to learn something, you're going to have to beat it into them because chances are the authorities won't do a thing about it except punish your kid whenever he stands up for himself.

It may go against your views, but 'an eye for an eye' is the best "lesson" that applies here. It goes against mine, but from personal experience it's the fastest way to end bullying.

Opposite happened in my school LOL. This kid who was retarded, named sean, he had a speech/hearing problem, however after he reached high school, he really got into rap. He honestly looked like a duck with curely hair, anyway, he came in wearing chains, baggy pants what have you, mind you this kids a twig. He then walks up to this black kid and just calls him out. Starts cussing at him screaming NIGGERR, and tried to punch him, the black* kid steps to the side and he falls down the stairs. Poor kid's still in a coma I think.

Pretty f'ucked up huh? I too was confused as to why she was cited for fighting when she was defending herself and most of the incident reports filled out by other students stated such. Called a friend of mine that is a police officer here and he stated it was correct. He said Nevada's assault and battery laws are around 80 years old and don't reflect today's society. It's bullshit.

Who would seriously believe that being tied around the neck and dragged can be considered horse-play?

I don't want to argue anymore but I did mention on page 2 that I don't think it's wrong for kids to throw a few fists in defense, but as adults we shouldn't encourage it. That however doesn't mean that we should tolerate it (kids being bullied) and I want to emphasize that if you think fighting back is your kid's only defense, then you should teach them how to do it safely so that they're NOT pile-driving a kid into the ground. A bloody lip or black eye is no big deal and gets the point across just as well.

I'm not arguing Sarah. I just wanted to share my own experiences. Sometimes, when you've had enough, you've had enough. My daughter did ALL of the things I told her to do and it still didn't work. Nowadays they seem to come in packs and a simple black eye or fat lip will only embarrass them and involve their friends. Even my own children have had to learn lessons the hard way. Sometimes that's just the way it is. And some still never learn.

EXACTLY!!!! And they were only suspended for 3 days. No citation or anything. Now she is suspended for saying damn? Give me a break. The punishment certainly doesn't fit the crime.
