SHAFT tried to keep his name a secret at first, and were planning on having him use a pen name until the end of the series, but the staff list somehow got leaked out and just Gen's involvement alone was enough to mak the Japanese call it "Chidamari Sketch" (血だまりスケッチ where "chi" means blood. This was before the series even aired, it was being called Chidamari Sketch just because he was writing and Aoki Ume was doing the character designs. That should give you an indication of the reputation he has from his past works.
Level E 10: Great episode. I thought the drama between the kids was handled really well. The good ending for the mermaid lady was also a nice touch. It seems like the characters from the first few episodes will be back next week.

Started watching this a week ago.
I'm surprised there's no Touma meme. Dude solves everything with a right punch to the face. But anyway, Misaka + Kuroko screen time = yum.
/catching up, catching up.

GoSick - 10 - Really did not expect to have a human trafficking twist pop up. That well made up for me guessing that the gem was real in the last episode. Good to see also that everyone ended up on a good note, specially Victorique's glass shoe xD. Curious about the red headed dude...
Fractale 9
FU'CK YEAH MASSIVE AIRSHIP BATTLE! Clain's response was somewhat painfully forced anger. But then he put his man pants on and it felt better. And I know I've watched a lot of anime when seeing that note written in English was incredibly weird and dissonant.
Eden of the East 1-11: Marathonned this today (well, I saw ep. 1 last night). Really enjoyed it, despite the parts where I couldn't take it seriously due to "johnny" being used. Wanna see the movies but I don't see the first one being seeded anywhere so I guess I'll have to wait till I can afford Funi's BD release (which doesn't come out till late April anyway).
I dunno, I watched .hack//Quantum a bit, it was really boring. I appreciated //SIGN, though I guess not everybody likes that one because it was mostly dialogue, and it wasn't even relevant to Kite's story. I should re-watch .hack//SIGN again, hmm. I lost interest when they kept making more .hack// pomegranate, it's like what they're doing with Pokemon.. they won't end it.
Well, I guess Pokemon's a bad example, let's use Gundams.
Forgot to mention it here, but this week SHAFT put Madoka 10 up on Nicovideo and they actually updated the animation on it. Notable changes are Madoka's witch name being revealed and a tree in the place of Madoka Mountain.
Her witch name is Kriemhild Gretchen, which adds even more yuri undertones. I haven't gotten much out of the changes aside from realizing the Gretchen relation to Faust, but I haven't seen what others have been saying on the matter to see if they realized any other deep meanings in the changes (maybe from her first name).

Madoka

"Kriemhild" is featured in that story. She is tricked into marking her husband's only weak point (as he is invincible if struck anywhere else), and Hagen, the man who tricked her, sneaks up on and kills Kriemhild's husband. Later, Kriemhild takes revenge by decapitating Hagen.
My guess is that the name simply symbolises Madoka's foolishness and gullibility.

Im seeing a revenge of lovers theme rolling around here.

Well I was actually thinking more about how Gretchen is the name of Faust's lover, but your idea works too.
Hourou Musuko 9:Wow. Towards the end of that episode i actually found it very tense
Spoiler
It was quite obvious that Nitori would be hit with a massive case of double standard, and it was just horrible to see it starting. He was so brave and got sent home for being "sick" when the girls were praised for coming to school dressed as boys. Horrible
Looks like the next episode is going to be even more painful when we see the results of his actions.
Hourou Musuko 9: So much gay tension in this episode. I really love the distinct characterization that is present in almost all the characters (except for Momoko. She seems to have been forgotten). Especially this episode where Chi showed that she can be a thoughtful and intelligent person when she needs to be.
Doi is definitely secretly gay for Nitori.
Fractale 9: So this show is also going with the "entropy" explanation to explain why the world is coming to an end. Claus Clain asks Alex Sunda if he should participate in the huge airship battle because he believes he can help. However, instead he is told to stay and protect Alvis and Lavie Nessa and Phyrne because they are the key to some ultra powerful machine.
Anyways, I must say I actually liked the full "morning star" song when it's sung by someone who can actually sing and not someone with a whiny voice that sounds like they're spitting into the mic whenever they have a line. Other than that, I hope that they can pull off a non-super cliche ending in the next two episodes.

I am okay with it being like Last Exile. Love that stuff. Could watch it over and over. Yes, the song was so much better until the chorus.
Madoka
It's hard for me to read stuff like the Nibelungenlied synopsis and not start leaping at mostly non-existent plot similarities. I'm always impressed by how much classic legend and mythology content good video games and shows manage to stuff in. Even if they're just names in the end and there isn't much to be taken from it other than general motifs.

That's lame. We can't make (Race to) Witch Mountain jokes about that any more!

Yeah, something like that. It's somewhat fitting. Something along the lines of how Madoka "loves" her friends- the magical girls, how the world killed them, and Madoka as Kriemhild takes her revenge by destroying the world.

It's not "relevant", per se, but there are a lot of references during the original four games. And it's not the dialogue with SIGN and Roots that's the issue, it's the random awkward scenes where people just sit there and do nothing / say nothing / etc. for 2, 3, 4 minutes straight. Just complete wastes of time. I'm a huge fan of .hack and I've read most of the manga series, watched both anime series, and played all the games, but that's just unacceptable to me. There is a lot more stuff going on in the background of the anime series that they could be showing, but nope, they decide to go with huge wastes of screentime.
