Vacation to Taiwan (from USA): MS cannot connect to server?
#1
Hello

I am curently on a two week vacation in Taiwan. For some reason i cannot connect to maplestory at all. Everytime i hope the game, it says "we are unable to connect to th elogin server due to a server check, a firewall block or other network issues"... so. i turn off my firewall (even thoguh i didnt have o do that before) and i still cannot get into the game.

IS anyone familiar with this situation? i saw several similar posts but they seem to target software changes, that doesn't seem to apply to me

It seems that there is an IP block in place for TaiwanMS. Until you get back to Taiwan, you'll either have to take a break from MapleStory too or learn how to use other methods of connection, which I'm not allowed to speak about here.

If your GMS account is new, it will be IP blocked. Use a proxy in order to be able to login. First, log in on the site, then open the proxy (for instance, I use Hotspot Shield for one of my mule accounts) and finally click Start Game.

Oh. I guess I read the thread wrong earlier.

While you're in Taiwan, if you speak Chinese, you can ask around for some methods of masking your IP. I know of plenty, but the services are all in Chinese and as I said before, I can't really state them here.

I'm 100% sure these will work, too, unless Nexon America blocks North American IPs.

Hm, if you'd logged in first then used HSS, it wouldn't ask you to reset the password. :\
