Why people get super-excited over Pokemon Black and White?

I mean it's very predictable what is about to happened.

1. There will be a Grass,Water and Fire starter.
   
2. There will be 8 gyms.
   
3. There will be an evil "Team".
   
4. There might be a third version.
   
5. There will be an anime.
   
6. Some Pokemon will be revealed during Gen IV.
   
7. There will be a male and female character.
   
8. There will be a rival, and a Elite Four.
   
9. There will be at least nine cities or towns.
   
10. There will be one water route, a mountain, caves, and a forest.
    
11. There will be a Victory Road.
    
12. At the end of the game, a range of special areas will become accessible.
    

I mean it's sooo predictable. I'm not hating on this. I'm just curious why people still buy this games despite their uber-predictability.

I've noticed you've second guessed most SP trends and fads here...

Because it's fun, it doesn't matter if it's the same basic formula every time.

Obviously it's a good formula to be successful for so many years.

personally, i haven't played pokemon since silver which was many, many years ago. the games aren't that fun...

The story in these games is actually a lot better than all the other Pokemon games. It's more than just fight a bunch of grunts, beat their leader, move on to the elite-four, etc. It's actually pretty epic and involved, especially near/at the end. They don't change anything else because it works and they still get a f'uckton of sales. Even the anime is a lot better this time around and is actually enjoyable.

It's supposedly the last ones, and actually has a pretty decent storyline.

Most of that applies to every game ever.

I haven't played a pokemon game since red and blue. It's not that I'm super excited about it but I wanted to see what all the fuss was about and I need something to kill the time while waiting for people to learn how to tell time at work. -_-'
I got all of them for my brother but I only ever played the blue one.
