Whose internet service doesn't suck?

Oh. I figured you'd be in Maryland. Rolleyes

I figured out why my internet speeds suck ass right now. O_o My wireless just plain sucks. I need to find an ethernet cable that's long enough to connect to my router without having to sit within 2 feet of it. On my dad's computer, which is directly connected to the router, I got 30 Megabits per second, while within the same 5 minutes, I scanned this computer again and only got 4 Megabits.

OF COURSE YOU DON'T, YOU SIMPLETONS. YOU WOULD NOT EVEN KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THE INTERNET, DOWNLOADING AND UPLOADING AT SPEEDS THAT ARE EVEN HALF AS QUICK AS MINE

wtp I use Verizon and my number is so much lower. I'm fuckin' jealous.

And Shikage don't insult your internet speed numbers since mine is lower than yours.

FiOS anyone?

And yeah, it's with these kinds of stats that I can cast games decently. xd
Oh crap. I was waiting for a FiOS result from NJ, and that doesn't look so promising.
Granted, I don't know a thing about how the internet works, I just want it to stop dropping at my house.

I saw my internet speed go up to 31 megabits during that test. I've seen it go up to 40 megabits in previous tests (months ago, but my service hasn't chanced since).

That has to do with superior infrastructure.

Never get Qwest.
Ever.

So they block our internet one day because apparently some malicious traffic is comming from us or something. I figure, OK, my sister or parents probably accidentally downloaded some virus and their computer is in a botnet. Run full virus scan on all computers, nothing found, call Qwest, tell them nothing was found, they reactivate internet.

One week later, same thing happens, they link us to a couple programs that they want us to run to check for viruses or whatever, run them, nothing detected, they reactivate it.

One week later, same thing, we run the scans again, nothing found STILL, they refuse to reactivate it.

They lose a paying customer, get me to complain about them as much as possible, and now we have pomegranatecast.

Too bad the only high speed providers around here are shitcast or Qwest...

I don't really have any complaints about my ISP. However, I didn't realize until doing that testing how much my DL and UL speeds suck lol.

We had to call and complain to get this speed. It was originally 0.5-1mb

Funny thing is we pay for 20mb and can only get a maximum of 8mb on our phoneline, and nobody told us this till we phoned and complained.
