CommanderJinn Wrote:I feel bad for the EB games people. I asked for a refund and they asked why, and then I had to tell them that I got them both for free, by trading PBR and Super Paper Mario. And then I had to tell them that everywhere except for Gamestop/EB were selling the games for 35 instead of 40 =S

Canadian EB/GameStop be ripping people off. All the US stores are selling for 35.

Ok, just defeated the 8th gym. My whole team is Lv.43~44 now, but I'm taking a break for about an hour because I have this feeling that if I play any more my head will explode (or something like that). That and going all the way from the 7th gym to the League is a bit too much to do in one go anyway.

Seriously, though, Emboar actually does learn Scald. Make use of that to take out those Ground-types.

oshawott isn't doing so hot :c Pretty weak in the Phys and Spec departments and isn't fast. I may go Piggie >;c

Shush, oshawott is beast.
Gonna catch me some lame pokemon, and use them too~ It'll be fun and a good way to waste more time!

Anyone else notice that besides type advantages there also seems to be Pokemon advantages? For example, Lillipup and Purrloin are both normal type but Lillipup dominates Purrloin and also seems to get 2x exp for killing it compared to any other Pokemon of the same level.

Dragon Tail-- in ur metagame, causing chaos and fear.
60 base power, 90 base accuracy, forces the opponent to switch out. Mix that with Stealth Rock/Spikes/both and Serperior's 113 base speed, and you have a terror in the metagame.

Are you sure it isn't your type or ability or something?
Anyone notice that when you walk, an additional piece of music starts? Nice, huh? :3
Try that out in the first route.

Don't know what to pick for the starter.

Anyone mind doing a quick (very brief) description of each pokemon.

So far all i know is the grass is defensive (how useful is that really?....), fire seems offensive, and water is the mixture.

Grass is fast and defensive, and ends up looking like a snake, water is good sp. atk and attack, ending with a base atk of 100, and sp.atk of 108
and fire is a strong/ slow Fire fighting combo (again). Someone said it can learn scald, which was known as boiling water before. So, a fire type with one water move is nice.
I chose the water guy, only in the town after the first one. DON'T FORGET THE LIBERTY PASS!
You may also want to think about what other types that you like are water grass or fire, so you know if you have something else of that type other then monkeys.

F'uck yea, I ninja'd someone.
I have a lillipup, level 5, so cute. :3 (till it evolves... >.>)
Don't forget to soft reset for natures/genders. I got a rash oshawott, I wanted one for attack with no hindering stats on speed or sp.atk, but rash is good for sp.attack, and doesn't lower anything important.

Solosis... better be worth it.

It practically (and literally) defines the Squishy Wizard trope. One hit and its dead... and i don't even have an attacking move for it yet, other than Hidden Power (Grass)

At the moment its pretty useless.

I just got back from the store and got it. The people in line, oh boy...

Anyways, going to pick Wotter because the only Smugleaf I want is the dream-world variant.

pineapple, Lillipup is a tank. I never use early game pokemon but my Lillipup can kill anything faster than my Tepig and Pansage.

Question:
On the various screens in the menu there's a little box that if you tap it puts a check mark in it.
What does this do?

Finally got the game. Waiting was actually pretty fun, I met a bunch of people and battled with my friends. My brother and I were the first ones in line. I started already, Tepig is lv8. I don't plan on catching any other Pokemon until the town with the 2nd gym.

It "bookmarks" that screen, so when you press Y in the field, it will bring up that page automatically. if you "Bookmark" multiple pages/key items, it brings up a list for quick use.

One of the best features in the game by far.
