Black and White recent happenings thread!
#1
Since the games got released now (in Europe at least), I thought we'd need this. So feel free to post what you did in Black/White here!

What I've done in White so far:
-Current playtime: about 4 hours
-Team:
  • Pignite Lv.19
  • Drilbur Lv.17
-Things done so far: Rage because I couldn't trade over my eggs, get to the 2nd gym. Drilbur is a pain to train. Got the Liberty Pass of wifi.

Friend code (will change once I get a 3DS): Daan, 3095 6273 4005

team so far:

Pignite - 19
Purrloin - 19
Herdier - 22
Petilil - 17
Roggenrola - 19
Panpour - 15 (just caught this)

Recently: Spent an hour or so in Pinwheel forest looking for the water and fire monkeys to add to my pokedex.

Have also found Patrat sucks and Purrloin seems to be going the same way unless it gets better when it evolves next level.

Did you solo the first gym with your starter? I'm going to attempt doing that once I get my hands on the game, but apparently it's very challenging considering the Gym Leader spams water attacks.

Yeah, especially since it's so easy to do so, now, as long as you have access to the other version's few exclusives.

That won't really help you catch 'em all since the other 496 still count as part of "'em all"

I meant all of this gen's, like RBY all over again.

I don't really feel like transferring all my sh'it from FireRed to SoulSilver to White. SUCH A HASSLE.

This. I think I might try to this time. :3
Hopefully it'll keep me playing longer.
You know, pokemon should have quests, like go defeat a couple pokemon in a certain area, or find an item or something. Get some exp, and money.
Also, some bosses that oly consist of wild pokemon. Like a herd of tauros, you'd have to battle them all~

My girlfriend is going for Snivy, so I'm going with Oshawott. We're picking them up Sunday and going to play for a bit before I head back to school. I'm so excited for a new game - I haven't played a new Pokemon title since Fire Red.

Im unsure weither to keep my Liepard in my team.

Its current state of 22, its attack sucks, and its really frail. According to serebii it lears claw sharpen but i mean...how many of those would i get off in a battle to make it useful before it gets poked once and dies..
In other news, my Roggenrola evolved and then i traded it with a friends Gurdurr so we both had the final evolutions. I am unsure weither to use Gigalith or replace both it and my Liepard with a Sandile.

Sandile is worth it, especially with Moxie.

When I played the Japanese version it felt really difficult a lot of the time--at least compared to previous installments. By this I mean I couldn't just fly through it using my starter, for example. Does it maintain this standard of difficulty throughout the game or does it eventually go to hell in that you can rape everything with a single pokemon all of the time?

^The game is harder compared to the previous games. In the post game most (if not all) trainers have Pokémon over Lv.60. It's not impossible, but you'll be using a lot more items than you're used to.

I'm in Driftveil now, going to the Cold Storage (already did everything available, including Route 6 up to this point).

Current team:
- Pignite Lv.30 (It's constantly raining in Driftveil, which sucks for this guy since he can't spam Flame Charge on Vanillite/Deerling now.)
- Excadrill Lv.31 (5 levels until Earthquake!)
- Solosis Lv.30 (It's so sloooooww. But it hits like a truck.)
- Archen Lv.31 (Haven't really had any problems with it's ability yet.)
- Basculin Lv.28 (Got this one from the Driftveil trade, so it has Rock Head as ability. Can't wait to spam Double-Edge.)
- Deerling Lv.25 (Haven't really used this one yet.)

Because I only used 2 Pokémon up to the 3rd gym (decided to sneak past everyone on my way to get Solosis and Archen so they would get the exp.) my whole team is overleveled now. Sigilyph is still freaking hard to defeat though.

I actually got swept pretty bad on the 2nd gym and most of my pokemon in the forest area after had a hard time living through all the trainer battles.

I dont know about whats to come, but at the moment ive been abusing the pokemon centre a lot more than in past games.

Yes, this is what I've been waiting for then! If it's harder, it'll be more fun!
I hope I won't mind switching pokemon I'm using a lot, since I want to try that kinda like ash does, use more then only 6 pokemon.
Has anyone tried catching and using that beaver pokemon or w/e it is? Cus, I think I'll do it too. Same with the other pokemons~

Currently about to fight the 4th gym leader.
My team consists of:
Tsutarja (Servine): level 23
Timburr: Level 23
Solosis: Level 22
Hiyappu (Simipour): Level 25
Victini: level 24
Zoroark: level 26

I didn't really know what to expect with Zoroark... but it is amazing. It's fast, hits hard with Faint Attack and it's ability is so awesome when it says "Go Victini!, What would Zoroark like to do?" heh.

Victini is pretty meh, but it's dual-typing of Fire Psychic is epic beyond belief at lower levels when you neither have a fire or psychic type.

And i definitely agree that this game is harder... Lenora (2nd Gym Leader) was DAMN HARD. like 4 attempts and lots of levelling before i managed to beat her, and normal trainers are on steroids in this game, most of my time playing has been "Beat a trainer, rush back to the pokemon center, then go back"

N seemed interesting at first, but he's just a crazy card-carrying villain like all the others. nothing new there.

Oh, and a word of advice, if you see some grass shaking, go in it straight away. Audino (the pokemon that only shows up in the shaking grass) gives around 1200+exp at level 18 for killing it. It's like a rare candy in Pokemon form., no joke.
