The Beatles is not "a few of their mainstream songs" people to this day are great fans of their music and now MOST of the songs they made (if not all). It's way more than just a fossile from the past. New bands today still pay homage to The Beatles and you can give credit to Michael Jackson for inventing video clips as we know today.
