So as reading and gathering info for UA, I can read out that Vampire is or will be totally useless for us(Night Lord). So there's no point for me to run and make a Cygnus of Knight before chaos patch and make my NL into an UA later? Maybe only to get the +24 atk bless.

You do not "make" your NL into anything. The skill is obtained through quests, whereas the UA gets them from the start. You probably do not even need a Cygnus at 120 to get the quests on your NL.

I can see some use of Vampire if it hits behind you and is faster than Ninja storm. Nifty way to finish of strays without turning if it works like that.

Vampire would be terrible for both Night Lords and Shadowers alike. Vampire does not work with Shadow Partner for some stupid reason (I've tested this with my level 120 Night Walker). Things like claw punching, disorder, and the poison bomb landing works with Shadow Partner, but not Vampire. But even if it did work with Shadow Partner, vampire would still be outdone by Avenger and Drain. Avenger has faster and stronger mobbing while Drain has better healing. Vampire also makes for terrible knockback because it locks enemies from being moved by anything else until the long-as-bananas animation finishes. The only redeeming trait about Vampire is that it can apply venom to mobs in masses due to its 4 hits per enemy, but venom sucks for training so that's out of the window.
Makes you wonder what Nexon was smoking when they decided to give all UA's 3rd job skills but thieves 2nd job skills. I'd have gladly taken Poison Bomb over Vampire any day. Or heck, give me the Night Walker's purple colored Flash Jump and I'll take that over Vampire.

Vampire -USED- to be a -VERY- good skill, when it worked in combination with 3 stack Venom! My old Nightwalker used to kick serious ass with just spamming Vampire around... (constant healing + 30k venom dmg / sec)
But now... Vampire is weak (90% * 4 = 360% damage per target), it heals 2% instead of 5%, only hits 3 targets...
Also... why don't Shadowers get a stronger version of Vampire? NL's have 55% critical rate, that almost doubles Vampire damage, while Shadowers are stuck at 5%, AND NL's have higher attack ranges, because of the higher claw multiplier bonus vs lower dagger...
Somehow I get the feeling it's pre-BB all over again... class imbalance ftw... :/
Ah well... at least I have my ZOMG LASER from my Mechanic... :o

I'm pretty sure a few nexon America Mofo Staff are reading southperry forum and such. And will or might change some skill at the last minute.
* but seriously. I would love to have that purple awesome animation FJ for my NL. Man Whats wrong with Nexon. FJ is supposed to be exclusive to NL. now Shad. DB get FJ also. NW with a better animation FJ. freakin Dawn Warrior gets FJ too. FML. They freakin took us NL as FJ tester...

I don't mind Shadowers getting FJ, but they didn't need Shadow Partner since that was supposed to be an exclusive star-throwing class game mechanic. And considering Shadowers inherited two skills from NL's, what did NL's inherit from them? Nothing! Would have been nice if they got Meso Guard or something. I would totally dump all the points from Shadow Web into Meso Guard.
But back on topic.
Vampire in my opinion was never a good skill even pre-BigBang. Sure, it helps with the Venom stacking and lets you do upscale fast killing for training, but that fast killing still does not beat Poison Bombing multiple channels for Crimson Guardians. The only time it was ever good in my opinion was fighting Windraiders since Windraiders had a knockback requirement of 0 damage (yes, even misses would knockback Windraiders). When it comes to mobbing, Avenger is tons better because it works with Shadow Partner. When it comes to training with venom, poison misting is still better. When it comes to healing, the old 10% of damage heal was so low that it didn't matter and was better to just use a Potion and secure your safety.

DW have kinda the opposite of FJ, since you need to be standing on the ground to use it, rather than jumping upward.

It does.
The only useful Cygnus skills are Soul Driver, and arguably Wind Piercing and Shark Wave for a small portion of third job. Vampire sucks. Flame Gear sucks even more. Soul Driver is the only skill I would condone wasting days (literally 24+ hours) working on the quest to get the skill. Every other job could spend the time leveling to fourth job to make the Cygnus skill obsolete, whereas Soul Driver is the only one that has potential use in Fourth Job, unless you want to mob poorly as a Bow Master or delay Pierce or some stupid pomegranate.

Isn't wind pierce like 780% damage to 6 mobs after chaos? Wouldn't that make it the strongest forward mob skill a bowmaster could use that doesn't rely on DoT? I don't even know how to find the tables for these skills pre and post chaos which would be awesome.

Wind Pierce is ridiculously slow. As far as I know, all Cygnus skills merely have the same stats as their maxed variant at level 5, except Flame Gear has some retardedly low duration and DoT.
Wind Pierce is marginally useful in 3rd job since it does slightly more damage than Inferno and Blizzard, but since it cannot pin monsters and gains no elemental advantage, it's not significantly useful for Rangers who cannot freeze. It otherwise does 714%/s compared to Inferno's 625%/s + 50%/s DoT, and Blizzard's 556%/s. Since it's so slow, it allows monsters to close in very easily (regardless of whether you care about taking damage or not, monsters will walk behind you, and being hit slows down training significantly if it happens frequently). Snipers can counteract this with freezing with Blizzard, but since they get Pierce in 4th job, it becomes an obsolete skill. Rangers cannot counteract this disadvantage though, leaving the skill less than ideal for mobbing unless it's the difference between certain HtKO scenarios.
As such, given the obscenely low drop rate for the item required (unless they've changed this) in the quest to get the skill, you're better of wasting your time grinding to 120, as you're guaranteed to reach 120, and you're not guaranteed to learn the skill, let alone reach level 5 of it. It can otherwise be a useful skill for a UA Sniper, but I would not recommend making a UA Ranger for this skill.

No. It sucks. Its only use is the range, but it does so little damage it's not worthwhile when you can jump forward and use Steal or Band of Thieves.

For damage it sux indeed, but it's a good addition for healing when you can't use pots in addition with Chakra, in situations like dojo, since Chakra hardly heals to 100%...

Vampire sucks for healing, too. Even on my Night Walker, Vampire attacks way too slowly for the healing to be effective. The fact it heals based on the damage it deals makes it suck even more ESPECIALLY since it doesn't work with Shadow Partner (whereas Drain does for a Night Lord). However, if you're a Shadower or NL and you're low on health, believe me, Vampire would NOT be the option you'd use to save your behind in either of those cases. If you have no other option like say for dojo, Vampire still won't save you because it's slow to trigger and only heals upon the animation "hitting" the target as opposed to healing immediately upon throw like with Drain.
