Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread
Rayquaza2233 Wrote:I sense troubles in your future.

Yes but really im having troubles now.
The only character i play in normal matches is Morgana because i know how she works and what to build, but we still lose depending on what the enemy champions are. Normally i end up with a person in a lane that doesnt know when to be careful and back off so they just die all the time.
Id play maokai for a tank because i think hes cool but at the same time i feel like his 'tank' label is a lie because he just seems so squishy even with tanky items.
If i played tanks in normal games id just feel like i would be feeding. Im very concious about negativity so i dont want to seem like im feeding because the thought of rage against me is... Sad
Eddikins: If you haven't yet, get lux and learn to play her. You have an extremely similar champ (morg) that you understand already. Lux is not very different in
playing styles and is an amazing ap carry.
There is some tournament that is to be played today in about 1 hour 40 minutes, I believe it is going to be streamed online at http://www.nationalesl.com/us/lol

If you're preference runs to AP champs, then you should try out some of the AP/Tank Hybrids. Nunu, Cho'Gath, Maokai, Amumu, etc. Most of them are bulkier than Morgana, albeit play very differently. And Maokai is actually a pretty decent tank, especially with his ult. as 20% damage reduction is very nice indeed. Nunu is one of the scariest late game AP Casters assuming you can get your ult off successfully when fighting in team fights. Cho'Gath can eat squishies even without AP, so adding some just makes him scarier. Amumu is another one who can do some pretty significant damage with AP due to his ult, bandage toss, and crying aoe. The important thing to note is that you shouldn't build AP first though. If you're going to get it, you want it after you've reached approximated 50% damage reduction for both magic resist and armor because after that it takes a lot more armor/mr to decrease the amount of damage you receive, so it starts becoming possible to up your own damage rather than stacking more magic resist or armor. Obviously it depends on your team composition, how the game is going, and other variables, but learning to play a tank that suits you will help you tremendously. I know I'm starting to work on my Casters, since at the moment I pretty much only have AP Teemo who I feel comfortable using. That lack of AP has hurt my team at times, so I've been trying pure AP Nunu and I'll probably try running Fiddlesticks, Morgana, and Annie sometime in the near future to shore up that lack.
Guinsoo Wrote:POLL: Should we add Wrathfire Bracelet item?

Wrathfire Bracelet - requires Blasting Wand, Amplifying Tome, Null-Magic Cloak, Upgrade (600)

Gives +70 Ability Power, +30 Magic Resist, and has "On spell cast, you
nuke nearby enemies for Magic Damage equal to 9% of their CURRENT
health." 4 second cooldown.

We have not had much testing on it internally, but we'd like to roll out an anti-stacked-HP item for casters (don't worry, physical are getting one, too!).

EDIT: It has a radius of 700, centered around the caster. We might need to pull that in to 650 or 600.

Some certain in-your-face champions like Kassadin and Amumu will have a hayday over this.

EDIT: Wow I failed hard. *goes off to -5 the necro poster* How do people even do this anyways...

Corki disagrees. Although I'm sure Corki was not involved in your situation.

You could make a similar argument with Irelia and Kog'Maw. But a real team would punish you.

Also, in Left 4 Dead 2, everyone focuses tanks. What's wrong with those gaiz?

I was going to type a counterargument, but I realized I can't think of any.

It came to mind from the one game I played today. Both teams had just smacked together in mid with one casualty per side then backed off, I was fine and Rammus was fine but I followed my team back. Rammus on the other hand, powerballed at me. He wasn't completely over the top with his armor, but that was a damn easy 1v1.
I decided to try some of this week's champions and I seem to like Cho'Gath, tips?
Darkmaniak Wrote:I decided to try some of this week's champions and I seem to like Cho'Gath, tips?

Tank /endtip.

Build up your carnage before using it to kill champions (Killing minions of course). Get High Hp items and the one that gives you 2% of your HP as attack bonus.

This is what I can say about Cho'Gath.

Probably the most annoying tank if he's played right. He can be very, very hard to kill once he's past a certain point and can pose a problem for the opposing team.

I would say use his harass/silence capabilities to the full extent; it could give enemies a hard time during the laning phase, being able to save your teammates from getting killed, as well as shutting down the enemy during teamfights. And of course, don't forget Feast. Once you have that skill at level 6 and beyond, start Feasting on any minions (and champions, but only if they have HP lower than the damage you can deal with Feast) as soon as the CD on Feast is up and don't get yourself killed often; you want to be big as f'uck and be very tanky. Regaining those Feast stacks does take some time.

IMO: I would rush RoA at the beginning (so you can use its HP/MP/AP gain effect over time early game), then get Warmog Armor if you feel you need to bulk up your HP more. Otherwise, on top of those items listed, I would get the typical tank armors and Merc Treads.
CHO'GATH ISN'T A TANK LOOK AT HIS AP RATIOS
Rayquaza2233 Wrote:CHO'GATH ISN'T A TANK LOOK AT HIS AP RATIOS

Tried Cho'gath with a AP build = Slow As hell. I rather be a Tank with him.
Chogath definitely works as a tanky AP caster.

I want to post that one comic but I can never find it. >.<
