Beer checklist

This is for people that drinks. What have you tried in terms of 'beer'? I'm going to try and remember all of the beer I've had within this month or so, and I really stay away from the basic crappy stuff. I'm probably going to be regularly updating this thread (for myself) because my list might expand a lot, since the bar that I go to has over 300+ selections of beer. And I usually try something new every time I go. Also going to be putting stars to the ones I recommend.

Woodchuck Draft Cider: "Spring Cider" (limited release) ★ ★ ★ ★
Has a hint of apple (or pear?) with a honey after-taste. Tastes like a regular cider, but without the pungent smell and overly sweet taste. It's a clear drink that literally looks like water, and at 5% Alc content, it's not bad at all. Great tasting for those that likes to drink slightly fruitier alcoholic beverages.

Duck-Rabbit: Brown Ale ★ ★
Has a really powerful ale after-taste, you'd literally have to drink a full glass to water to get that after-taste out of your mouth. Absurdly strong smelling, and the bitter taste doesn't like to leave your tastebuds.

Lindeman's Framboise Lambic ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Probably one of my favorites, of all time.

Belgian lambic beer that is fermented using raspberries. It is one of many modern fruitbeer types that have been inspired by the more traditional kriek beer, made using sour cherries.

Framboise is usually served in a small glass that resembles a champagne glass, only shorter (could also be a goblet). Most framboise beers are quite sweet, though the Cantillon brewery produces a tart version called Rosé de Gambrinus that is based on the traditional kriek style. The Liefmans brewery uses Oud bruin beer instead of lambic to make its high quality framboise beer, resulting in a very different taste. Recently, Framboise has become popular outside of Belgium, and can now be found in pubs and supermarkets all over the world.

It looks like a wine & beer combination, and in fact, you drink this in wine glasses, which is the proper way to consume this drink. Highly recommending this with a cheese plate or something if anyone has the time to prepare something like that. Great way to enjoy a movie night with your girlfriend, with a drink such as this. You'll feel like you're drinking wine, but you're not. Just beer. Like how us men likes it. Warning though, extremely expensive. A bottle of this costs $10.50 at the bar I go to.

Wells Banana Bread Beer ★ ★ ★
Has a sweet aftertaste of a banana flavor, I have no idea where the 'bread' part comes from. It doesn't taste like banana bread, not to me anyways. It's relatively sweet and isn't all that powerful, but it's certainly flavorful. This is a bad drink for those that enjoys a kick in their beer, but a decent on for people that enjoys fruitier-beers.

Samuel Adams: Boston Ale ★ ★ ★
A relatively decent drink, and at a more affordable price than the rest. Mediocre at it's finest.

Dundee: Original Honey Brown Lager ★ ★ ★ ★
Very sweet, mild, and smooth. You'd probably have to drink quite an amount to get drunk off of this though, and it has an irresistibly sweet honey & clover taste to it. Recommending this for sure !

Cherish Raspberry Lambic ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Comparable to Framboise Lambic, except that this is less sour, has a higher ABV (5%), and tastes . . . a lot stronger overall. At first sip, I would imagine it to be similar to the Framboise, and it really is extremely similar. The taste of rapsberries just literally stays on the tip of my tastebuds, oh~, why so good. Except the Framboise tasted like strawberries, and more like champagne. Strange, Cherish Raspberry Lambic tasted more beer than it did champagne, but once again, it had a combination of both tastes, so it's hard to decide. It's considered as a beer, but you have to use either a goblet or a wine glass to consume this for maximum classy dining experience and taste ! ! !

O'Fallen Cherry Chocolate Beer ★ ★ ★
Pretty decent, has a cherry & chocolate flavor to it. Nothing special, it's pretty light (imo).

Asahi Super Dry ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Really mild, smooth, and .. I can't even describe this beer. It's f`ucking awesome. Just try it.

Sapporo ★ ★ ★
Rather expensive in the states, note that it's brewed over in Canada though, even if it originated over in Japan. I tried it, and my friend said it's supposed to be a very light beer. Instead, what I got was a strong tasting beer, nothing like how she described. I guess they brewed it differently over in Canada, meh. You can probably get drunk off of this stuff pretty quick, haha. It's not bad, but not something I'd drink often.

I haven't heard of any of those, but I'm suddenly curious. Wheat beers are relevant to my interests, mmm. I'm going to try finding some Sapporo some time in the upcoming week, so this thread should be expectin' an update. Maybe headin' over to the bar again on Friday as well.

Not like france is the place to have beer (you can see the ones I had were mainly from germany or belgium).

I'm a better wine taster though.

I used to mainly drink Fosters or Stella.

I've gone off beer though. The tastes suddenly got bland for me.

Considering that there are hundreds types of beer, yeeeeah, I'm not surprised that I missed that. I've had some awful beer a couple of times too, but it was so sh`it, I didn't want to even remember the name of it! I actually drank way more than the above that's listed, but I can't remember everything, sadly. Going to start taking a notepad with me and write down stuff I drink from now on.

The only international beers I've tasted are Heineken, Corona and Brahma, which are good, but the peruvian beers are just my favorite... Well, Heineken is extremely good too.

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO YOURSELF!?!?!?!

Very limited experience and slightly biased due to circumstances, but I'll put forward what I can. May have had no more than a pint of any of these.

Kronenburg 1664 - Not very nice really.
Fosters Lager - Cheapest pint around here, and you really get what you pay for.
Stella Artois - Housemate swears by it, doesn't seem much different than Kronenburg. Maybe more carbonated, but can't really remember too much. Still gross.
San Miguel - Something about this one made it a little more tolerable than the others. Might have been because it didn't seem to have an excessive amount of the "beery" taste I pretty much despise.
Coors Light - Only pint I had of this was extra cold and with a few peanuts, and was probably closest to what I would call a remotely decent tasting beer, and not because it was lacking the aforementioned "beery" quality. Might have helped that it had a nice manageable but not excessive head of foam on it too.

Cider is for the most part pretty disgusting as far as I've experienced, 'specially the "value" stuff, like White Lightning, White Ace (ACE PRICE! £2.89! LOL) and Frosty Jack's. Only took a sip of each of those to put me off the taste of cider forever. >_>

Oh yeah, I've tried Stella Artois before, it's not a bad beer at all! I actually liked it. Gonna be addin' that to my list later.

Wheat beers are relevant to my interests, mmm.

If you are in the midwest grab yourself a Boulevard Wheat and toss a lemon in it, great stuff.

Considering your enjoyment of the Lindemanns another one to try may be the Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat. It's a bit more fruity than anything else while still maintaiing a wheat beer taste.

I'm mostly into stouts atm. If you wanna fork over a few extra dollars (cheaper than Lindemanns) I'd highly recommend getting your hands on Young's Duble Chocolate Stout. Despite it's name there isn't a strong chocolate taste, subtle but still present.
Currently I'm making my way through some Left Hand Milk Stout. A bit more mellow for a stout but still enjoyable.

Friend has been dragging me to a place called the Flying Saucer lately. 80 beers on tap and more than 200 available. Great for trying a bunch of different types of beer out but horrible on my wallet.

@Mute, do Irish Car Bombs count? If so I had my fair share of those on Saturday night.

I'm surprised, because I don't see Stella everywhere here. I hate going to cheap bars around my area, because the quality of the beer I drink is sh`it. I like to drink stuff that I haven't heard of before, so I will have a completely unbiased opinion towards what I'm drinking. I really love exploring my options too, because at large bars, I can stand there for over 10 minutes trying to pick out what to drink. I end up drinking anywhere from 3-6 on an average night out at a bar anyways. But if I plan on staying for hours, maybe 10+

Bavaria Malt White Beer - Dutch (It's new, but it's awesome, I was amazed by the taste, best Malt I've ever had)


Grolsch Premium Lager - Dutch (Best Lager available imo)
