Xbox 360 vs PS3
#1
If you have a choice, would you buy a PS3 or a Xbox 360 ?

Give reasons please.

XBox 360. Better games, more people play it...

The only reason I'd buy a PS3 is that the internet is free.

Wii ftw.

XBox 360.

The PS3 has no games.

But seriously, I think the 360 has a better deal, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF INTERNET SERVICE. It's the only system where you have to pay fees for internet service. However, it seems to be the better system for gaming, from what I hear (I've never owned either, so I can't give first-hand experience).

If you want a system for watching Blue-Rays and stuff like that, go with PS3. Otherwise, go with XBox 360.

Is this a rhetorical question?

No, I was deciding between the both of them and I finally bought an Xbox 360 so I wanted to know if I made the right choice. I already have a Wii Big Grin

Definitely.

Eh, depends. I would've gone with the PS3. Only because the PSN is free and I already have a PSP so I could Ad-Hoc Party and whatnot.

I own a PS3 and as it stands would never buy an XBOX (unless of course it was offered to me for less than $50, then I'd buy it just because)

Why is this? Because the xbox has no appealing games for anyone besides fratboys. Almost all of the acclaimed xbox exclusives are shooters. It has few if any good platformers, adventure games or RPGs.

People claim that it has a superior online service to the PS3 but I'm sure none of those people have ever actually used a PS3. But even then it's a moot point if you don't like playing with fuckwads (which describes almost everyone on XBL).

I think one of the major appeals of the XBox is that it's steam compatible but the PS3 will be getting steam soon too so that's no longer a selling point.

So unless you like shooters and being griefed, the xbox is not really an appealing alternative.

Also almost every xbox exclusive rpg eventually comes to the ps3 updated with more features. Not that it matters much because they still typically suck (thanks eternal sonata) but it's worth knowing.

just so I wont have to start another topic:

I know PS3 doesnt have region protection but does the 360 have it?

x360 of course, ps3 only has 2 epic games:
- God of War
- Killzone

I REALLY would like to play those once... but I can't... I already have an x360 with loads of epic games... Wink

There is nothing on the Xbox that's not better on the PC, so PS3.

PS3 of course, the 360 has no games that are good IMO.

Xbox is region locked.

You can import games for PS3.

ITT: Console wars.

Not even close. As someone who has used both, I can say for sure that the move is superior in every way to the kinect. EVERY WAY.

I have played both systems and the fact is the 360 is way superior in start up, game play, online play and so on. The 360's computing power is heads and shoulders above ps3. Even the wii takes down the ps3 when it comes to computing power. I have never really been a sony fan and after playing the ps3 a few times decided it was totally not worth the money. 360 has far more games and if you are online has far more users.

PS3.
Only 360 exclusives that come to mind are Halo, Gears of War, Forza, and Viva Piñata. And the only one I like is Viva Piñata.

Free online, and not region locked.

LOL

Though many people say multi-platform games are better on the 360, I have yet to confirm it. It should be true, since they're first developed on the 360 and ported to the PS3, but the only games I had some minor graphical bugs with are AC2 and ACB, and I don't know if that also happens on the 360, since I've only played them on PS3. (Also, I use a SD TV).

Sad truth is that most games are developed with the limitations of the 360 compared to the PS3 in mind. So the 360 ends up performing better. If you develop a game for the PS3 to full capability, like MGS4, for example, and wanted to port it over to the 360, the XBOX would have problems running it smoothly.

Don't forget FF XIII runs at 720P on PS3 and 576p? on 360.
