Known Issue: Game Start Delay

I get this delay on XP, but not on 7. I'm using 1024*768 resolution, and MS takes "several" (haven't exactly timed) minutes to start.

Win XP laptop in 800x600 (i'd post on the nexon forums but they won't keep me logged in)

:13 hackshield pops up
:16 hackshield vanishes
:54 new patch update starts
1:29 patch is done downloading
Sigh...

:00 click 'start game'
:09 hackshield pops up
:10 hackshield's done
3:06 MS starts

4:00 login screen

I hope they also fix the random crashes some people have after thiis SC.

same, it looks like a winxP issue now lol, before BB, maple would run flawless on winxp and all buggy on win7, now it is the opposite haha.

This. my maple has been closing randomly

This has been happening since the golden temple patch. I havent had any problems on my comp. windows 7 64 bit

Takes me 1:02 to start maple up. Doesnt seem that bad

Been taking a while for the blank screen with the cursor in the corner to get the actual game started since BB; but I've been experiencing this as well. It was significant enough to notice, so I knew there was a problem, but I thought it was something on my end honestly, since firefox has also been lagging/causing lag on my computer lately without actually using that much of the processing power.

For me happens on both Vista Desktop '07ish Custom, and XP laptop bought in '03.

Flawless on Windows 7 x64. I didn't even realize this is an issue.I still use the old-school gamelauncher if that makes a difference too.

It might be a Windows 7 32 bit issue as well (atleast, for me)
I can't even get maple to load.
Hackshield pops up, goes away, and Maple never loads.

Have you waited 10 minutes yet? Cause when I was waiting for the first time after this update, I was monitoring the process of MS as it jumped between 20k kb and 95k kb for 7 minutes before starting. After that log in though, it went down to around 90 seconds.

It only takes a few more seconds for Maple to start than it did before, so there's not much issue there. It's just that on task manager, I see Maple slowly crawling up as usual, but when it reaches 75K, cpu goes from 10% to 100% for like 20 seconds, which is kinda bad considering I have a well aged processor that can barely handle 30% without needing the fan.

After that, Maple starts crawling again, then the window shows up shortly after, and from there it just jumps from 150K to like 450K for no pineappleing reason, AND STAYS THERE UNTIL MY CHARACTER ENTERS THE GAME. That's not pineappleing cool, using half my damn RAM only because the opening is missing from the log in/character select screens.

I'm having this issue as well.
Takes like 3 minutes for MS to start and my computer runs slow during the process until log in screen...

1. What resolution does the game run in?

wtp? the game always loads in 800x600 until youre actually online. then it switches to 1024x768 if that setting is checked. is she talking about your monitors resolution?

10 minutes? Try 10 hours
(not implying it starts after 10 hours. It never starts)

So... the solution is?

This is getting annoying, cause personally it takes me 15-20mins until MS gets to the goddam login screen. Not only that, but my computer sounds like tractor for the whole time. And it lags everything else open.

I only just started having this delay upon start up after last weeks server check. I end up having to shut maple down via task manager and even then it still takes me about a minute before I even see the resolution flicker. I run on xp and have never had any issues as far as maple goes, except that it is a resource hog..lol. My cpu fan makes noise all the time but it is working much harder when maple is on. Also, my computer is a desktop and can handle quite the work load. I can run maple, surf the web, and hell I can even run video/music and can still run fallout 3 all at the same time and my computer doesnt even hickup. But start maple and its like it has to stop and think for a second....lol.

For me it now takes about 4 or 5 minutes to get to the login screen. I could live with that except that also since the last server check / mini-update the game hangs after 5 to 20 minutes, forcing me to use task manager to close the game, and then I'm back to waiting for the 4-minute startup again.
No mention of any fixes in the notice for tomorrows server check either.
